I think it would be a mistake to place reynolds in as coach. With as much conterversy following him it would be hard to get public support at this point. In all fairness he does well, but the administration would serve the community better by putting a nuetral coach in this postion. There are other people out there that can coach, just read what people write on this board. There are plenty of knowlegeable people out there. The administration will have to consider a coach who will be fair to Green and the ones that boycotted.

Also Mike is not dependable. He has already walked out on CCHS once. If there is a coaching change they will have to consider the fairness to any boy tring out not just the ones that boycotted to avoid future problems of this nature.

That is the dumbest statement that I have heard today! Mike left for reasons that you know nothing about. Actually, he left for the betterment of the team because he knew that he and Pierce would not be on the same page as far as coaching philosophies!

Dumb or not, There is no way reynolds would be unbias toward green and any other boy that tried out at this point.

Guest your right....someone asked to help as a freshman coach has the mindset that the head coach will change his whole philosophy just becasue he was the COACH AT THE MIDDLE SCHOOL. Whoops I almost forgot he coached the allstar AAU team. Lets everyone BOW to the greatest coach of AAU.....NOT....The truth is he left because his "woman freind" was mad about some certain persons playing time. GOOD reason to quit. Cant stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!

I am the one certain persons friend and I was only mad when my son came out of the locker room and told me that Pierce said that I can go kiss his a##. My son wanted to quit that night becasue of that and because of minton, who pierce threw off the team. Mike kept me literally from going after pierce. you have something to say to the parents then say it to them and not use a child as a messenger. That is cowardice. There were 36 turnovers in the first half of that game and my son did not play that half. He turned it over in the 3rd quarter after he stole the ball and went for a wide open layup when green shouted out to slow down. Pierce jerked him out after he made one turnover and the others (Greens son) made several and were not pulled. I seen that as biased but I didn't complain. Yes i was mad by that stupid coaching mistake but I never said a thing to Pierce or Green about coaching. Ever. I actually drove the players to the next game so mister know it all you look like a incompetent idiot who thinks he knowsbut is really ignorant. My kid does not do well with Pierces playing style. It sets him up for failure but I know that and understand that when he doesn't play. But it's over and it's in Gods hand and that is where it should be. I should have let him quit earlier but I would not let him. I AM AT FAULT FOR THAT. I accept my faults most of the time and admit to them. But I didn't cause this situation and you have a new team you should be proud of and concentrate on them. If you just want to trash someone then go to AC or somewhere that hates CC and not divide the kids that make up the school in the first place. You have graduated I assume, so you are not even a student of CC.

Did the coach say that before or after the preacher ask him to step down?

The preacher asked him to step down at one point during the summer, this has been brewing for a while. I believe fightthepower is a current student, not a graduated alum as stated.

Preacher asked him after he let the kids out of the locker room. That was when Pierce blew up before Preacher could say anything and then preacher told him that if it was that bad then maybe he needed to step aside for the kids sake. I don't know about the summer. I only know what was witnessed to me at the time of the incident. I as a parent never talked to him about coaching or the team or my son. I was just there to give rides more or less. I took those kids all summer to Karns and Oak Ridge. Pierce or Green had an excuse every weekend not to go but Green did have a valid excuse as his wife had surgery. That's fact and honesty. I don't hate Pierce and did not want him removed nor did Blevins tell my son to quit, don't tell anyone, and then we can fire him. She was very misleading and talked strongly about problems at CC but just like everybodyelse in the administration they did not try and settle this before the kids were forced to make a serious statement that impacted the school itself. She asked me what I wanted to see happen and I told her and I told JIm Pierce and GAry Seale that we need to fix this before all the boys quit and that they need to sit down with the team and the boys only and settle this. I told blevins also that Pierce needed to get on his knees and ask for forgivesness for what he was doing to the boys. That was a bit too far on my part but at this point I was upset as was everyone else. My son quitting means he leaves a school he has ran track, Cross Country, football, and basketball for and grew up here. He has done what was expected of him as a student and an athelete and he deserves to have this situation resolved when he brought it to coaches and principles attention. He gets really goood grades and he never misses school. He works hard in everything he does and is respectful to ALL his coaches. It is bad for everybody involved and there is no right or wrong answer. Sometimes you have to do things you don't like because of the bigger picture. that's what those boys did. Now if the admin had the guts to get everybody together and settle the internal issues (without the parents) then the parents would not be involved and we would be talking about something else. I hear the cougs played in a Holiday Tourney and they won 2 and lost 2. I wish them all the luck. Lets get CC better for the future cougs so that we can compete at the level that our kids in CC are capable of.

Actually i am not an alum off CCHS....i was here before the school i was as alum of one of the two Older high schools (i will not state which). As for you CCfan who sounds like an idiot...."My son does not play well with coach Peirces playing style." Everybody Knew Pierce's playing style before their children stepped on the floor. IF YOU DIDNT LIKE IT TAKE HIM SOMEWERE ELSE. As for the comment about "going after pierce" that wouldnt have been a good idea....#1 Len works out everyday....#2 thats what God wanted you to do now isnt it....

Ok people I wish one of you would answer this question truthfully. If a man came up to you at your job and said...."I think you better step down for the betterment of the company. But the thing that really makes you mad this man that asks you to step down has been conspiring to get you fired anyway, and have a man that he has chosen to take your place. How would you feel?? truthfully....I know how id feel.......P'd off...

There will be someone who will allow you to sit down in the corner of gym in a chair like a pierce bigshot when the next coach arrives. Calm down.

At this point whats done is done. Our whole county has learned a hard lesson. There seems to be alot of hurt on both sides. As a community we need to support the new cougars and the old, also the coaches and the administration. Also we need to respect the parents who felt the need to do this. Focusing on the furture , weither it will be Pierce coaching or not he is the coach now and it is a tough job and he deservse respect. I honestly think both sides are right to a point. Hashen and rehashen isnt going to help all these hurt feelings. I know these parents have put alot of time into their children's basketball too and it is an emotional spot for them now. The old cougars are extremly hard-working young men and the new cougars are honoring CCHS the best they can , with alot of heart and pride.
