and just for Meecham for Heisman.....Everbody knows who u are. Until you play a minute of ball you have no right to give someone respect. I commend the player who told you that. Everybody knows who I am because I posted my first, middle, and last name in one of these thread you dip stick. Pay attention. Im not tryin to hide anything. For all you new members my name is Robby Gross and I go to church at Cedar Hill Baptist. I can give whoever I want respect, but usually I only give it to those who deserve it, which are people who do what they believe is right, and dont let other people decide things for them. So pretty much anyone that has the opposite personality of what you are showing.

I think that in the future our boys need to be in excellent shape, concentrate on dening the ball defensively, put aside the one player game and function as a team. We cant compete with schools that have a larger pool of atheletes to chose from. We always seem to be smaller and not as agile as the bigger schools.

It's hard to compete with knox. schools. Most of their ball players have been sent to individual,& team camps and pay for individualized ball instruction all located in Knox. Their parents have an average income that is higher than our community and they pay big bucks for these extras. How are we going to compete with that, any ideas?

Not necessarily, although I don't attend that church, most people in Campbell Co. have that in their favor when provoked. This situation is not going to get better by everybody on here calling each other names, i.e. fightthepower saying whatever to vixen. A wise man once said, "If you don't know what you are talking about don't open your mouth and let something stupid come out of it." The "7" did what they did because that is what they felt they needed to do, parental pressure or not, guidance from higher ups involved or not. Right now, who cares, it is over and done with. Support what we have. In the military you can respect the rank without respecting the person wearing it, happens everyday. Whether you support Peirce or not is not important right now, the boys who take the floor wearing the CC uniforms deserve the respect from everyone. From a coaching standpoint, usually you tailor your coaching philosophy to suit your players ability even if goes against everything you have ever done. Both parties are to blame regardless. What is done is done and I don't think any more or less of anyone involved.

Honestly, I don't have an answer. It is hard to explain though how Jacksboro and LaFollette can complete and win against Oak Ridge and the other schools they play against. High school is another level no doubt and you have to play because you love the game. you have to go out and give 110% every play, every game. In practice you listen to your coaches, because as much as kids like to think they know it all they don't. I know that this sounds like I am going against what I just said about coaching style, but considering this has already taken place beforehand. As with the supplement "found" at the fieldhouse, go down the road and that will be what they give the kickers. From my day at CC we are smaller in all sports than the other schools. Pure heart and coaching is what got the football team into the playoffs a few years ago. Kids who come out and play half-heartedly will get you killed on the field and court. Heart, dedication, and execution is what will help you win. Support from the community lets the kids know that they are being watched and appreciated.

If we could get more fans, we would bring in more money. With this money maybe we could help send the boys to more camps and instructional lessons. I think ur right about the community backing them up, cause players seem to play with more heart when they feel they are doing it for their school and community who support them. Maybe some of the extra could be given to the coaches. They do it for pennies. I wish we could find a way to get more students there and involved also.

Coaches are always taken kids back and forth to practices and games in this county. With gas prices like they are its a wonder we have anyone playing. A lot of our athletes have to work or cant afford to play. What can a community do to get these kids in there that won't take from coaches personal time and money.

Agreed, but with continued losing seasons, who wants to come watch? I can remember back in the mid and late 80's, if your didn't show up 2 hours early you didn't get a seat, period. One thing in Mike's favor is the fact that he has raised money and knows how to do it. I don't know all the particulars but Mike's boys played ball all summer I believe. Why they didn't go to camps and such I don't have a clue but it would only take asking the right person to find out. My money is on the fact that money was not the hinderance. I have coached at the middle school level for 7 years for nothing. I love the game and want the kids in CC to be better people than others because sports is not what most are going to do for a living. My only hope is that I have imparted something in the kids that will be a positive for them to use in life. When CC played DB this year their fans went into the endzone before the game and sang their fight song to them, that my friends is dedication at the highest level and it starts with getting involved and establishing a winning tradition. Is that possible in CC, yes it is when everybody gets on the same page. Parents against parents against coaches against the system is not going to solve anything, only create more problems. That, fellow readers, is my opinion, which is given by being born an American.

At this point whats done is done. Our whole county has learned a hard lesson. There seems to be alot of hurt on both sides. As a community we need to support the new cougars and the old, also the coaches and the administration. Also we need to respect the parents who felt the need to do this. Focusing on the furture , weither it will be Pierce coaching or not he is the coach now and it is a tough job and he deservse respect. I honestly think both sides are right to a point. Hashen and rehashen isnt going to help all these hurt feelings. I know these parents have put alot of time into their children's basketball too and it is an emotional spot for them now. The old cougars are extremly hard-working young men and the new cougars are honoring CCHS the best they can , with alot of heart and pride.
