Ronny Arnold is a stand up man, he has supported CC BBall for decades. All of his children have attended CC and have been active in extra-curricular activities. For him to allow his son, which is a great kid, to quit...there were obviously issues. Ronnie is much more concerned with school than sports, thus the athletic/playing time argument doesn't hold water in my eyes. I also think these personal attacks have to stop.
Pat if it doesn't you should lock the thread, and the board for members only if these guests are going to post slanderous, insulting, or otherwise negative comments.

So u are saying its ok to slander and put negative opinions about CCHS administrators and coaches, but to state otherwise against what a majority of the public feels about preacher is wrong. He wasnt too concerned with the morals of county sports when his good friend, and church member, did not follow school forum and codes and did not tell parents about enchancing drugs when told to do so. At the risk of these children being physically damaged. He wasnt at the board calling for Well's resignation. In my eyes it is extremely hypocritical. The 7 young men were his only concern. Not any other player or boy who did not make the team, or didnt get to play did I see him rebeling for. If there is an argument Then the football situation is far more dangerous and serious than the basketball.
Again I did not see or hear him rebeling and asking for the right thing to be done by all the football boys.

Can I not have one evening my friends free of the internet without having to come on here the next day and having to clean things up. I don't want this to become a members only board but it is rapidly getting there. One more day like this and it will be.

I totally agree with you Redhound. He is a great person. My son graduated last year and he played football at CC. And of course Preacher Arnold...would come and pray with them before the games and encourage them. My son said there were many times that he cried with them. It doesn't matter what a handful of people on CC thinks....he will have his just rewards..and Thank God noone from CC will be doing the judging!

I wasn't aware myspace had age limitation and that "adults" weren't allowed to have them.

Last time I checked Rev. Arnold is not responsible for the actions of his friends. The decision by Wells was dumb, but he had the support of the whole administration in buying the supplements...i.e. Blevins, the CC athletic dept. and so on. It takes more than one signature on those checks. I can not explain anyone's actions but my own...thus I do not know why he demands one coaches resignation over another. What I do know is he would not put individualism/selfishness above principle. From my knowledge of the man's character he just certainly would not have taken the action he has due to playing time.

ROBBIE OR MIKE WOULD BE A GREAT CHOICE. I HELPED ROBBIE A LITTLE WHEN HE WAS AT JACKSBORO, AND MIKE WAS ASSISTANT AT LMS. BOTH TEAMS HAD OUTSTANDING YEARS AND JACKSBORO FINISHED AS RUNNER UP IN E. TN. TOURNEY. EITHER OF THOSE TEAMS COULD HAVE BEEN IN THAT POSITION, AND NOW THAT TALENT IS COMBINED (OR WAS) AT THE HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL. THERE IS NO REASON THOSE KIDS ALONG WITH A DOSE OF NEW BLOOD, EXCITEMENT, WHATEVER YOU PREFER TO CALL IT, AND THE OTHER CLASSES AND THEIR TALENT, SHOULD NOT BE COMPETITIVE FOR A DISTRICT TITLE. IM SURE COACH PIERCE HAS HAD HIS MOMENTS, BUT ALL COACHES SHOULD KNOW WHEN IT IS TIME TO MOVE ON. BEST OF LUCK TO THE "NEW" COUGARS AND TO THE "OLD" COUGARS WHO ELECTED TO TAKE A STAND.

You got my vote cougarmom2! Corey had played awesome these last few games. I commend all the cougars for holding their heads up and supporting their school and teamates. It's not always the right decision to follow the crowd, sometimes you have to take a stand for what you feel is right even if that stand is alone.

the supplement issue apparently hasn't even been brought to truth. 4 years ago kids approached coach wells about the supplements, gnc told wells that if they bought in bulk that she would give them a deal. he took orders from parents and kids and bought the bulk. he hasn't been giving out doses of creatine like your local drug dealer. the player that had physical issues with supplements, his mother actually bought the stuff herself, read the instructions as she should have, told him to throw it away, he didn't and didn't take it properly. i bought my son's supplements myself and read the instructions with him, the players that had the stuff were from themselves or their parents, took it during weight training, stopped when the actual practices started which was appx july and no later than august. the news reports weren't accurate by any means and a lot of words were taken out of context and a lot of words left out. when the principal told coach wells that he should have a permission from the parents that stated it was okay to take the supplements. wells offered a better alternative, he told the kids that they couldn't have it on school property to take it home and let the parents be responsible for the administration of the supplements. you guys through out all these accusations and don't have any desire for knowing the truth and just want an axe to grind or someone to beat on. other than my husband and myself there is noone i trust with the welfare of my kid than coach wells and i have stated that repeatedly and if anyone knows me and how active i am with my children knows that isn't a statement made lightly.
