I definetly agree with you Peebs I doubt we would ever get him, he is my dream candidate though! Just a suggestion, what do you think about this? When Jim Pierce retires bring in Jody as not only basketball coach but athletic director as well. Just throwin that out there. What do you think?

Campbell County is too busy maintaining the status-quo to bring anyone in that is proven or an outside quality candidate for any athletics job. They like to take chances with unknowns and locals it is much more fun that way. I will stop now before I get in trouble...hahahaha.

Why do they not care if the athletics succeed? It would help the community greatly!

Why do they not care if the athletics succeed? It would help the community greatly! That question is too easy to answer...it makes too much sense for the board to do anything that is with the times. Heck they are still consolidating schools down there. The new elementary is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. So if they do something so ignorant with the education of elementary school children why would they do anything about the stagnant athletic program at the high school?

Exactly Redhound. If they wanted to consolidate schools they should have given Jacksboro and Caryville, Jacksboro Middle and then given East and West, Lafollette Middle and consolidated the two middle schools. This makes sense because you could combine the talents of the two schools in every atheletic program and that gives the High school a three year head start on implementing their program in all sports. They wold save money by only having to build one school. There are to many people in the "system" who are trying to make themselves look good and not looking to help the children.

ae2 has an excellent suggestion in jody wright. i know the man personally and would be a great addition to cc basketball. but who would leave a place that if not at least a region finals spot is dissapointed with the season as a whole. plus to have a gym named after you and not even being dead or retired. quite a job coach wright has done at fulton, but i just don't see it happening.

Jigsaw the answer is....MONEY...they are making a little suplement and won't let it go. The other answer is....MONEY....the school system will not pay anyone that is not a teacher to coach an athletic team even if it means more wins and credibility for the program. That school system and the way it is administered is the laughing stock of the state.

I agree Mike is really a great coach. I think Paul is a good assistant as far as teaching and coaching fundamentals.

Most colleges frown upon student teaching being waived, I have an education degree I know this. I'll take your word on Paul.

I really don't want to believe your statement, but the proof is in the pudding isn't it? Having known Mike and saw him coach for a few years, I think that he would be a "fresh start" to reviving the program at the high school.
