I heard late tonight that Head Basketball Coach Len Pierce has been relieved of his duties at this position. If someone can confirm this I would sure appreciate it. If this is the case I am sure Coach Pierce will move on and continue to teach. Also if this is the case, how will a search go for this position?

If that is the case I am glad they let him finsih out the season. I know as much as I hated all the times I quit or was forced out of coaching I evnetually found it relaxing to have all that free time and none of that stress.
If it is true I hope we can find a coach that is willing to come in and coach at CCHS.

well, well, looks like me coming on this board & talkin bout stuff like this is ok. Apparently I wasnt the only one who felt this way. I hope people wont get so pissed when I bring up stuff like this in the future. I hate to hear that anyone loses a job, but sports is competition & winning is the goal. I think it was handled in a good manner if this is true, the season is over and they have plenty of time to find a replacement. That also makes it fair to the kids.

Then again with the records over the last few seasons, Coach Pierce has fallen off. In the end Coach Pierce had a good run as coach, but it is time for someone new. It would be nice for CCHS to restore its decent basketball tradition.

Is there any question that they are gonna offer Coach Hunley?  IMO, there is not.....I think he will be the new coach of the Cougars! |

Of course it will be Hunley, It is his turn. Besides it being his turn, he is "everyones buddy". Of course we will go back to the kids coaching themselves, but I guess from an administration who could care less about the basketball program they fell this is an improvement.

Of course we will go back to the kids coaching themselves, but I guess from an administration who could care less about the basketball program they fell this is an improvement. Hunley is a very good coach...and besides he has had some winning seasons at LMS in recent years...and Pierce had one when? This is Campbell County...90% of the people here base their opinions on who is their "buddy"....the people that get behind coaches and staff here are mostly family and long time friends. Not much is based on who is qualified! |

rick may or may not be interested. his wife has some health issues that developed recently that may curtail his activities drastically.

IMO, there is not.....I think he will be the new coach of the Cougars!
