I was told if I got on here my head would spin!
So has anyone checked to see if this is true about our past banners. I am a "former" who was told by coach King they would hang forever. Is this "Robbie" the same Robbie who played there?
Surely if so he would work this situation out.

it is ironic, that all the trophies prior to Vic's reign, (the Barry Kincaid era, the Stiner era) Vic removed from the trophy cases. Said they didn't belong there since it was during the Jr. High time and didn't belong with the Middle School time. I personally think history is history period. I would always think it would be great for my child to see something I may have accomplished. That is what helps to build programs ( pride in your past). Vic could complain about what Seale's did (and I am not saying it was right because I feel they should all be out there) but Vic did the same thing.

I recently talked with Mark Taylor at Hooters in Knoxville. He was a former Jr. High player for Coach King (as was myself on same team). Mark used to be an assistant coach under Coach King. That is not the story I heard from Mark, and I do not beleive this to be a fact.
In an earlier post you said he took stuff with him. That was not correct information based on another post. So I am not sure this story is true either. I do not know where he coaches but I know there is someone on here that does. I would like for someone to just ask him if this is true.

One more thought, correct me if I am wrong. We won the district championship. We were told this was the only basketball championship the jr. high ever won, why would Coach King want to throw away the only championship the jr. high ever won when he was the coach?

My son played under Vic.....and my daughter was playing at the time Vic LEFT. I know first hand the tension between Vic and Gary. I know both pretty well and I don't believe that Gary would destroy the banners no matter how bad they disliked each other. You know Gary can be a hard man...but if your a student do what your suppose to and you won't have any problems! As far as the parents I was glad he came to LaFollette and got some order going on! That's how a principal needs to be in this day. And just one more thing....I and everyone that have kids that was attending CC last year.....owe him more than we can pay him....he took 3 bullets that could have killed one of my kids!!!!!! And no matter who plays basketball at the high school and who don't.... that's the kind of principal I want taking care of my kids!!!

AMEN!!
Most of the time the only people that have a real problem with Mr. Seale are the people who can't handle any discipline. I am glad that he is there for my daughter and hope that he is still there when my son gets there.

Vic could complain about what Seale's did (and I am not saying it was right because I feel they should all be out there) but Vic did the same thing. I called vic the other day and asked him about the trophies. He said in 93 Mr. seale's was the asst. principle. Vic said he went to him and ask for a bigger trophy case, Mr. seale's replied, quit winning so many games and you won't need one and laughed. He went on to say that no one looks at those trophies anyway. Vic said that, Mr. Seale's took the plates off of the trophies and put them on a plaque. Which is supposed to be in the trophy case now. He then went to Vic and said now you have plenty of room in the trophy case, that was their first run in with each other. One tries teach their kids that hard work pays off whether its in sports or academics the trophies, banners or whatever the awards should be displayed to encourage others.

I think this thread needs to just die, but before it does, I want to say that Coach Vic King (former Owl coach) attended the LMS Jefferson game tonight and saw the Owls complete an undefeated regular season. I talked with him and he confirmed the post by LMS grad. The trophies were done away with by Seale in the 90s.
Said being out of school due to excessive illness gave him a chance to attend the game and give a "high five" to former players, now coaches Dotson/Stanfield. GO OWLS and support us at District Tournament at Anderson CO. High.

It is always good to see Vic at a LaFollette game. Like Johnny Bruce at Jacksboro football. Without those guys those programs wouldn't have the tradition they do.
