Sometime I wonder if the Admin understands the importance of those banners. Not only is it nice for our community to remember our great basketball past, but it has to be intimidating for other teams.
I remember visiting different colleges during my senior year, and that was the first thing I looked for.

It is sad anytime history is destroyed like that. LaFollette basketball is a very storied program and that history should be celebrated. I hope they get new banners. If not I may have to do some kind of fundraisers to have some made.

He is anyway even if he didn't burn them. That's not really necessary, is it?

I BELIEVE THAT VIC TOOK QUITE A BIT OF THAT STUFF WITH HIM WHEN HE LEFT. WE CAN HOPE. Well, I had a chance to talk with Vic a couple weeks ago at lms middle school game held at Maynardville Middle. He asked me if the banners were ever hung. Said Seale told him they could not hang them for one year after construction. He hoped seale was telling truth but Vic said he did not expect the truth from him. He did have hope Robbie might put them back up. Vic had no idea they were distoryed but I am sure he would not be shocked by this.

They need to ave some new ones made if they really were destroyed. Thanks Pat, I agree, maybe we can "re-do" and restore the memories. Thanks for an "old eagle" being understanding. I guess if someone tried to tear down JMS history you would know the feeling, as you were part of a JMS Eagle football history of winning!

I have had a lot of fun reading everyones opinions here. There is a large rage of them. But watching TV today reminds me of the time I visited with Coach King at LMS a few years back. He had a photo of BOB Knight in his office! Today Knight may tie a record so he has been on TV is why this came to mind.
It just brings to light how you can have discipine, structure, and not allow parents to "tell you how to coach", but yet talk to you as a parent. Now I did not say I always agreeded with everything he did, but just that you can have a structure, disicpline, but yet do things your way (coaches) with class.
I guess I say this because some seem to say this is parents wanting their way. Do you not think parents din not want their way five or six. (or 15 years) ago. He was a class person who still did it his way.
Juat a thought from reading all this. Nothing to me anymore my son is long gone. I still enjoy our cougars. Just want to see more success than losses.

I would love to see Vic's championship banners restored. I'd even be willing to help do some sort of fundraiser if I had to to help do it. I might even be willing to get in the ring one last time.
