fight the power knows his stuff ... you are telling it the way everybody is feeling it. good for u. you gotta feel sorry for the kids with parents who would actually encourage them to make such a poor decision that will haunt them for years to come .. and it will what kind of life skills are these parents teaching these children? sad.

Sounds like your going to agree with anyone who is pro Peirce. Ive said it once, and I'll say it again. I dont really think it is fair to run the kids and parents through the mud. They were just doing what the coach told them to do. I dont agree with the way it was handled on both sides, but what am I going to do about it now? Im going to back the 7 because they are good friends to me, Im going to back the basketball team because Im an alumni and I want to see my school succeed, and Im going to continue to ask for a new coach, just like I did my freshman-senior years, and just like I did last year, because I think it would be in the best interest for the school, not because of what happened with the players.

I would just like to say that I think the "new team" has a lot of courage. Not only have several of them not played in a while, but they played with heart despite even when the kids they grew up with (the "old team") were bullying them around at school, which I have personally seen, for even trying out, but their love of the game was compelling. I especially am impressed with the class of Blake Potter who played freshmen team with these boys, and sat the bench but he didn't quit, he finished out the year then came out all painted up blue and orange with support for the other boys. This is a wonderful example of the heart of this new team. They make me proud to be a cougar!

u look at all the new ones, most of them were the ones painted in blue supporting the our old cougars. specially Aiken. I heard that the bench was a great factor to this win too. Shoupe stated that his professionally skilled motivational" butt pats" were the key. Aiken begged to differ, he stated that his job was done with great finesse. Every player that came off the floor had to a "toasty warm seat "to sit in. " this must contribute to blood flow stimuating more aggressive play." I'm afraid to print what A.J said , but use ur imagination, it was great. I believe Allen was thanking the lord for the fire alarm and wondering if Jim Pierce was the guy who pulled it for them. One of my favorite moments was 3 minutes in and Stiner patting his head for a break. The look on the other boys faces was complete panic! Also the pass from Hatch to Minton was sweet! as was the heart Green played with. I didnt know Mr. Seal could do a toe touch! I dont want to hurt his feelings but I dont think he can make our cheer squad they are way too awsome this year. The cheer section also executed with great pride. The comeback statements were witty and funny. Only a few hesitations in relay. Overall I give them a 9 their a young group, but I see great poteintial!! It was a great honor to see our Alumni cougs at the game. Their presence made it almost magical. As for our old cougs, hats off to Norman, Turkey an Buffer!!! It took a lot to cheer for the new ones and u did. That says alot about your character. We miss u and the rest and luv u. No wonder both squads are like brothers. Good luck to everyone, no matter what the outcome of Tuesday, Clinton was fun, we appreciate the new cougs and love the old.

I heard directly from a student one of the return chants after the game, "Kiss our a**" Im all for student support for any team, but just like when the UT students chanted "F*** you Bama" this is totally classless. Surely to goodness you can think of somethin better to say. Expand your vocabulary a bit. I dont think the Cameron Crazys ever cuss in their chants, and as much as I hate Puke, they are the best student section in college basketball.

There is absolutely NO excuse for this type of language. When I heard this at the first game of the season, I was really shocked! I'm was even more shocked that someone didn't say something to them about it. As much as I dislike duke, gotta agree that they get behind their team pretty good.

Ok I was at the UT Bama game & not that they should have said that chant, but the reason they did was because when Lamarcus Coker was injured & lying on the field the Bama fans started doing the maroon-white chant across the stadium. Lets keep in mind it was COLLEGE students, they all do some crazy things. & we cant truly say that we know Duke fans have never cursed.

If Coach Pierce did tell the players to go the house, they should have turned in the uniforms and quit the RIGHT way..instead they let theor school and other teammates down. If anyone has been "DRAGGED THROUGH THE MUD" it is the parents who DID the dragging not Coach Pierce. Admit it they did the wrong thing. Is meeting at a church to try and stab a man in the back the right thing...forcing him to resign....is that right....Meachem 4 Heisman supports the "fab 7" because his preacher (i will no more call him preacher) is the conspiritor he taught the kids to hide and to decive. If they get wat they want they are being shown that they can undermine authority whenever they want.....Fight the Power

I agree with "FightThePower". The boys did not quit the team the right way. Yes, Coach Pierce may have told them to go to the house; however, I'm sure he didn't mean "Quit showing up and tell everyone at the highschool that you aren't going to.. because it will make an enjoyable Halls game." It was an embarassment to Campbell County High School. It is not the parents' place to force a coach to resign. It is not the parents' place to decide how the team is coach. If you are not happy with it, deal with it the correct way. If your school board does nothing about it, that's your problem. After that, you should make your fight with the school board, not take matters into your own hands. Personally, I feel Coach Pierce has done nothing that suggest he should be fired. Some people may not like him and may not like playing for him. If this is the case, don't play. I know many people who have quit playing basketball over the years for reasons like this. Some of them are the "new cougars." Coach Pierce obviously must not be that bad if they have considered playing for him again. As far as Coach Pierce not being a good coach and having a losing record, he took a group of young men and made them a team in a matter of a few hours. Yes, Clinton is at the bottom of the district, but that does not change the fact that they've been practicing together for quite some time. The win in itself was an accomplishment for Coach Pierce, the "new cougars', and the school. Coach Pierce and the new cougars should be supported. And, no, the seven boys who quit should not be let back on the team. I realize that people who have quit in the past have been let back on, but they did go about quitting the right way did they not. If I were one of those seven boys, I would be ashamed of myself.
