zooker, i would put this soph. class up against any team .they have a great chemistry, 20+ wins 8th grade at lms, top 8 in the state aau year after year..... attitude reflects leadership, there has always been leadership problems with coach, from the days of joe carrol until now, the only difference was that the teams in the past won inspite of the poor coaching, all people are saying is its time for a change, every coach has his time, and len's has come and gone. you and i both know that. alot of people still like johnny majors , but his style of coach was old school, look at bobby bowden at fsu. Jopa at Psu, I dont think anyone on here wants to see anything bad happen to coach, we would just like to give the program a breath of new life, some new ideals, a fresh start... because right or wrong he is the coach, i understand that, but its like lou holtz said ' your loved by few, hated by many and as good as your record says you are" what is coaches record the past 2 seasons? 10-12 wins.... 40+ losses, winning is learned, losing is coached.....

Zooker, I respect that you have respect for him but we played oak ridges aau team that included clark and dowdell. Was many close games.. You and the others don't get it. These kids scrimmaged Len's varsity when they were in 8th grade. Len got mad. they made them look stupid and fundamentally inept. Don't tell me you didn't watch the JV games the last two years... do other schools change their players their jr or sr year or something? They were successful. What is the equation that's different? Coaching and two years of influence.

First of all they are not playing against all seniors. Take a look around the district and region and look how young these teams are. Also if the class with Nick Goins, Brent Walden,Matt Cline, Travis Thompson, cant dominate night in and night out when the talent was much better, no way in heck this team will ever dominate anyone.

Hey what they done in middle school is fine. Noone is disputing that, And I am not even saying at maybe the end of the year a change does not need to be made. But why would anyone want to step in where they knew if the parents and players did not like them they would go the school board and players not show up!!!!!!!!!!

You know saying AAU isn't competite....all of the CC girls team plays AAU. Four have played for me personally. And the teams we played were hs school teams. The whole high school teams would play together. Not many teams were put together and when they were they were stacked. And we would see more scouts at AAU games than at hs games!

Motivation Zooker?
My child was at the school at 6am every moring this fall running the fence line a couple of time, went the Cougar for Christ, went to class and then went to football practice. After football practice on cross country meet days he would run in a meet not 30 minutes after and then be in the gym with rick hunley that night shooting ball. You can question my dedication but not this teams. Len and Paul did not come to but two team camps this year and did not attend any of the others or go to Georgetown with the TEAM. You got it wrong when talking about dedication.

AAU is competitive as in talent, Most of your big time AAU tournaments are lots and lots of offense, but how about every now and then going to the gym by yourself to work on individual skills. All of the things you mentioned are great guest, but there is no motivation on that ball team, well tonite I saw some from those freshman, but I havent, so thats great what he done and glad he was motivated, but it looks like to me none of them were on the hardwood.

You know the ones that do have dedication don't get no respect for it because dedication means your practicing or working out on your own and no one is around to pat you on the back. When Josh was a junior on the winning CC football team....he got up every morning at 5:30am went to the gym...didn't miss one summer work out...even though all the captains didn't come to many.....he was there when the coaches wasn't. He didn't do if for praise...he done it cause he wanted to be stronger and better! His senior year the same thing.....he worked his butt off....and to this day...he's a better person for it!!!!! So dedication isn't something you always wear on your sleeve!

Zooker, personally, i think you just like to cause controversy. You played for Pierce an you know as well as anybody he is an idiot. So why are you defending him so fervently? We are not saying that every mistake the team makes is Pierces fault.. theses boys have played their entire life.. they know when they've messed up an they know when its their fault. But thats not even the point right now. Lets just overlook the stats an the record for a second.. an look at Pierces coaching ability.. as a coach he is not good. he is pushing the players around just to show his authority, he is taking stuff out on the players to try to prove a point, what does that say about him? its says he is immature and doesn't deserve a leadership role.. And i understand what you are saying about a coach standin his ground an doin things his way and not lettin the players make the rules.. like good ole Paul Bear Bryant. Hard a coaches are usually better.. but when you are stubborn AND stupid.. you arent gonna get anywhere. Pierce is doing nothing positive for this team and shouldnt be the coach... and ive seen these boys play since i was 9 in elementary school they won the county.. in middle school they got second in East Tennessee.. In aau.. they dominate.. they have played quite a large variety of teams from quite a large variety of places.. an they dominated.. so who are you to say they dont have talent? By the time these boys are seniors.. they will be great.. they can compete with anyone.. as they have shown their whole lives.. and anyone who has watched these boys grow would know that..

they were not on the hardwood, no. they were doing something even bigger imo. Corey busted open his right eye on top and underneath last year at the powell game. His face was severly swollen and he was woozy. He had the trainer from powell pull his cheekbone together and tape it and his eye. he continued in the game. He caused many turnovers for powell and Played the whole game. (Len's call by the way) that night he required 10 stiches and a couple inside. In football his feet were so calloused his whole heel and ball came off and his feet bled, he put spray on it and taped it up and played football. He also ran in severl cross country meets like that and I never knew becasue he just wanted to play. I am not sure you still get it. corey talked to the coach, he was benched, I talked to Gary and JIm and they agreed that it was not right and that I had a right to feel this way but they couldn't do anything, then i awne t to the schoolboard and Blevins. Why couldn't JIm stick up for corey the way he did him? I f corey had not run in cross country this year while playing football we would not have been ranked number ten in the state. Did you even know CC had this accomplichment this year? Like I said before most critics just don't get it.

One Question. What have they accomplished on the courts of HIGH SCHOOL, not elementary, not aau, not middle school. Nothing. To say I like to stirr up controversy, I am not the one who did not show up tonight for my team.

That is Pierces' decision, who am I, a spectator to say he is wrong, sure I can question it, but for me to say he is wrong, he is the coach, he makes the decisions. I cant help that.

Guest you keep saying they, and you mention one person, I do not get it. I know this specific kid and know he is a hard worker, but as a whole they were not.
