It has been confirmed to me that Mike Reynolds left the staff and that Cory Mitton in fact has been kicked off. Reynolds left because of what Pierce was doing with the team. From what I hear there is alot of problems right now between players/parents and Peirce. The Cougars may be losing a couple of really good players and may even be on the verge of losing the entire varsity team minus one. Its going to be really interesting to see how things play out.

The only good thing that could come of this is that people see how Pierce is.....This seems like his 27th yr in a row where he has kicked off a sr member...I'm shocked that it was Cory...He is a good kid and when I played baseball with him a very very good teammate...but I don't know the whole story with him and Len though! They have Fulton tommorrow.....If Jody Wright didn't know Len as good as he does they could prolly win by 80.....Wright will call the dogs off though...hopefully i'm wrong and cc comes to play!!

I have heard the rumblings from one parent in particular. He is not pleased with the way things are going. I would say they are definitely not happy with the loss of Mike who has coached them since they were little. Campbell County lost to a terrible Morristown West team at the chop house. I just want to ask a question. What would happen if we did not have enough players to field a team at CC?

What is going to happen before someone makes a change with the current staff?? More importantly, how are these players that have known Mike for years going to play this season without him?

If they do have to forfeit and pay fines the Admin. and Board would flip...they'd be scrambling for the solution. That is the problem with CC they always take REACTIVE action after the fact, they are never pro-active about anything...no parent should send their kids there. IMO

But the fact remains that the AD can't take any action against him. And the board is so slow in doing anything that the season could virtually be over before they even recognize a problem.
Replace Pierce now with Reynolds and start CC basketball back to winners side of the scoreboard.

Supposedly Cory was allowed to come back to the team along with Zack Heatherly. Supposedly the invitation was open to all who quit earlier. How long will it be before someones parent/parents get mad enough to say something. Although it will take more than one set of parents for anything to happen.

As I was watching the news tonight they showed CC-Fulton highlights. Fulton beat CC by 16[43-27]. I did not see Minton back on the bench, Just curious who told you your information lmsqbcoach?

This mornings news-sentinel had Cory in the box score from last nights game. I believe that he led the team in scoring.

Coach Pierce like most coaches does not yeild to parental pressure...all I know about the situation is what i read on this board so I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone, Coach Pierce included...but as a former coach NO coach should have to yeild to ANY outsider's demands...if he/she is hired to coach a team, then those who hired him have given him/her a vote of confidence in his/her coaching styles which includes team rules and discipline...I am sure some (possibly many) of you will disagree...but that is okay...try coaching and puttring up withparents sometime..not all are bad, but teh coach is the coach until he/she is replaced...
I like Mike Reymolds, but just because he coached tham since they wer little does not make him the answer...if this was true we would have a bunch of little league coaches and junior pro coaches coaching our high school and middle school teams...a few could soso but realistically it would be DISASTROUS!!!
