This entire situation has been handled so wrong! As long as there has been a coach there have been parents who didn't think they needed to be coaching. It's funny how the attitude changes when their child starts handling the ball more  I am a parent of an athlete. I haven't always agreed with every decision a coach has made, but I have always taught my child two things ... respect the coach and play it out. I don't teach my child to be a quitter. I also certainly don't teach my child to be deceitful and devious. What kind of lesson is that? I honestly feel sorry for these boys who made the decision or who were encouraged to make the decision to "not show" ... they will be the ones who suffer from it ... as a matter of fact, some may even quietly regret their actions at this point. Especially when they went to school today and saw the LACK of support they were getting from their peers. You know, this kind of thing follows a kid around. Colleges certainly DO NOT like quitters or those who sneak behind their coach's back to TRY to have him dismissed. Think about it! |

To all of you who think you know something about sports, Mike CAN NOT be the head coach!!!!
Check it out, I can assure you I am correct. This is not jr pro. To be a HEAD COACH you MUST have a certified teaching degree .... no offence to Mike ..... nice guy ... decent coach, BUT can't take Pierce's job ..... furthermore, do you actually know and understand the dismissal procedures for a coach???

thezooker ... gotcha curious huh? what i can tell you is that i know a great deal about the situation ... i have heard the rumours but KNOW THE FACTS .... honestly, this has all been a tragedy ... but we will come out on top. As far as Cory Minton goes... I have always loved him and have more respect for him now than ever .... he showed his character ... that means a lot. hope to see you at the game friday ... just not sure who i'm looking for |

playthegame, I dont care who is playing now, there is no chance in the world that the times of having to show up 5 days early and park in Middlesboro are just around the corner. Matter of fact those times cant see the corner. Open your eyes man, win a couple of games, say 20, and then maybe those times will return. I dont think you can see the forest for the trees. As far as there being a lack of support, that too is a lie. While maybe not everyone at school is against Peirce, I know there is only a select few that are against the boys actions. And I know for a fact, none of those 7 kids regret what they did.

one more statement that should some things up for a lot of people if they would actually take a moment to think about it .... there will never be a coach who everyone likes ... that's just the way it is.... if they put someone new in there tomorrow, there would be someone who wouldn't be happy .... that's the way it has always been and will always be. Too bad a bunch of adults take some of the fun out of what may very well be the best four years of some of these kids lives. and by the way ... many people are forgetting that the very reason why pierce was asked to begin coaching again was because of all the "parent problems" with the coach he replaced ( who by the way I also like and respect)... guys, everybody has their good points and bad points ... why do we spend so much of our time focusing on the negative??
