Isn't that what MR.DOTSON has been doing,subing in all players so he can get them some playing time?  ???OH,and mr big orange,I can surely tell that YOU BLEED ORANGE!!!! GO OWLS 3 & 0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No, he has a selected few. Well, yeah, he does sub some in but it may be for what.....20 seconds. Yeah, that's playing time alright. They may just get to run up the floor once. |

I TOTALLY agree with MR BIG ORANGE on the part of it takes ATTITUDE and HEART,not attitude or heart Mrs.owlsBBmama.If a kid was willing to put his heart on the line to help his/her team,than thats who should be the leader.Take Mr. Lucas Nelson for example,on the opening game of the season for the owls,I dont think anyone seen or heard of him sitting on the bench sored up because he didnt get to play,no,instead he was standing up with the team every time a timeout was called,every end-of-quarter,and every time the team wasn't doing so well,he helped the bench recooperate the team by cheering them on every single time.That MR.BIGBLUE is what "TTEEAAMM" basketball is all about. And is there some reason that you all keep saying bout heart...that mine don't have it? ? If you came and watched any football this year at all!!! You would know he has more heart than obviously a lot of you that don't have a clue bout what you are talking bout!!! I wasn't at the LMS...JMS game.....(my son was still playing football) but without being there I could have told you what you... seem to think is news! |

Fifth of all Cobrastyle,20 seconds or 20 minutes,Heart and Attitude will display team Unity-I feel like lms has that. GO OWLS & COACH DOTSON!!!!!!!!!!!:-} I don't think they have any unity whatsoever. They have a couple of players that Dotson plays constant and dosen't even give the players on the bench any time to shine. I know for a fact that he has one player on the bench that mentally knows the game better than anyone, in my opinion, and he dosesn't get in nearly enough. Having a "basketball smart" person on the floor is a must. And what's weird is that the player can play. Why put someone out on the floor that isn't as good as the players on the bench? It's pointless. The team needs to bond in some way. Take them off somewhere and make them get along! Do SOMETHING! |

Well, looks like there's a lot of interest in our basketball team this year. That is good. Ive been sitting back reading some of these posts and find myself wondering, "why all the negatives and not the positives". We are 3-0 and beginning to come together as a basketball team. All the hard work from the summer is paying off and ALL my players are good kids that have tremendous work ethic, 7th and 8th graders alike. By no means am i perfect but i do try and be fair to the boys. I just hope that everyone understands that no matter what. I do wonder about some of the "favorites" comments. I do not have favorites but "earned confidence" in certain players just like any other coach in any other sport. In conclusion, I am beggining to develop confidence in other players as they become more familiar with our style of play. Thanks for some of your comments and to the others, I hope if you have any problems with me you come and see me anytime because I would be glad to answer any of your questions that you cant figure out. Coach Dotson...Go Owls!

The only reason that I even mentioned that I had coached was to show that I actually had experience dealing with teams. Some people shout and claim to support your cause and know what you are talking about. I was clearly giving a little background info. What gives you the right to call Jacksboro a 3 ring circus? Do you have anyone playing there? What are you talking about with the coach and the 6th grade team from last year? I didn't know there was a 6th grade team last year and what was there record? I will never criticize a player! Coaches are responsible for putting players in the position to succeed or fail. Also, I have never seen a coach on the court during a game helping his team carry out his plan! |

My oldest son is 18 now in college..he played all 3 years at LMS was the Capt. his 8th grade year. All my kids have attended LMS. I have went to almost every basketball game played there in the last 8 yrs. My daughter played her 3 yrs. there. [glow=orange,2,300]
I am a true LMS OWLS fan through and through. [/glow]
But when it comes right down to it...I'm going to do what is best for mine!!! and when all you that are to young to have kids get older and realize that....you will understand!!! And you will see things different!!! Basketball is a team sport!!!!....not saying mine should be in the spotlight!!! But I am saying if mine is being treated unfair.......not going to happen!
