What is the recreation center teaching our children? Does Mike Reynolds treat our children fairly? I have witnessed how he has treated children differently and set different rules for different children and different teams. He has also allowed at least one child that was too old to play in a younger league but did not bother to tell the other teams the child was too old. I will not mention any children's names because IT IS NOT the child's fault. He has allowed some children that played school ball to come and play Jr. Pro after the season but has told others they can't and in addition he told all the coaches at the beginning of the year that NO SCHOOL BALL CHILD WOULD BE ALLOWED TO PLAY AFTER THEIR SEASON WAS OVER. Which caused some children to have to make a choice between school ball and jr. pro. and then when all was said and done he let SOME school ball children join the jr.pro team. In addition they have allowed one coach to come and play in the LaFollette league that was banned from the Jacksboro league for cheatin? Is this what our recreation center is teaching our children. I've read alot about how he treats all children fairly - Does this sound like he's been fair to these chilren? That's call discrimination in my book! If you don't believe this call him up and ask him if he did this. Have him get on this board and clear it up if it's not true!

When you have corrupt people running the rec center, you shouldn't expect nothing but corruption. Nuts don't fall far from the tree.

kid who is too old is by one day and has only had one basket all year. doesn't give right for other parents to blame all on mike. pesident of league and board members make rules. mike does what they tell him to do. doesn't give parent right to come into practice with a metal pole during practice with 6 year olds and swing it and cuss and threaten people. i was there. my kid was practicing. he swung pole close to my head. Too out of control just because they lost a game.

Doesn't matter if the player is 1 day or 6 months too old, it's still against the rules. If you break the rules you are a cheater!

Obviously Mike did not tell you your child could not play school ball and jr. pro and evidently you weren't at the coaches meeting when the rules were stated in writing. There is written proof on the rule the league set. How many times did he tell this parent that the school ball children would no longer be allowed to play but couldn't face the music with parents he told their's could. Thus the result a child was hurt and discrimated against and his parent stood up for him. As a parent would you let your child be mistreated? Furthermore, it has nothing to with losing he has to do with treating everyone fair and playing by the rules!

You know I think the bottom line was that a parent came in the gym with a metal pole!!!!!!!!!!! I think that is mistreating your child! Everyone is so worried about winning at 5...6...7...(parents) at that age..who cares if someone comes in swinging a metal pole as long everyone is legal AGE!!!

None of this would have happened if the truth would have been told from the start.

I don't care about any lie anyone told. It does not justify swinging a big metal pole around and cussing in front of kids and scaring them for their safety. I don't like it when I am lied to about my kid either but the pole thing is out of hand. What kind of example was that to the kids??? Beat someone with a pole when they lie??? Hey cane everybody who lies on their taxes. There is no justification for what that guy did. He was out of control. He could have seriously injured a child, not just lied to one.

So get a name and learn how to quote!!!Secondly...I guess we all have the right then in this county to go in swinging poles....well, I know I do....I've been lied to a few times by coaches and side kicks. So does that give anyone the authority to swing metal poles? I'm glad you don't teach my kids....*Now listen if they tell the truth all will be okay...if they don't now ...you have permission to beat their heads in!!!!!!

I think everyone needs to stop and take a reality check on what is going on. These are children and we are supposed to be adults and ACT like adults. However, the lines are clearly blurred because the parents are acting like children. We have all been to ballgames where something didn't go the way we wanted it, a call didn't get called, the opposing team had all children at the high end of the age group, etc. We may fuss, we may complain but we deal with it. What has happened here is a disgrace and a shame. First of all the women that showed themselves at the Rec Center last Saturday need to take a step back and see how trashy they made themselves look (since they look down on everyone else) - yes everyone knows who I am talking about. Second, if you feel so wronged by this whole situation - there is a Jr. Pro Board - you do not have to walk into a gym full of children with a metal pole. When this man walked in that gym - he crossed the line - BOTTOM LINE. I don't care who said what, who told who they could play or who didn't - I DON'T CARE - IT WAS WRONG. There is no excuse for behavior such as this in adults. Unfortunately, he will be prosecuted and will serve as an example of what happens when we let greed and anger (and apparently stupidity) overtake us.

It's a fiasco! Metal pole guy is wrong and Reynolds should not have caused this to begin with.

I don't think anywhere I have stated that it was ok for him to swing a pole - all I said is it was not acceptable to lie and discriminate against children. Do you know what emotional pain the child that was discrimated against may suffer in the future as a result of the actions that was taken against him. That's why Campbell County has the problems it has - they don't want anyone to voice their opinion and bring the truth to the forefront. By the way, do you know how many times the parent and the coach were told this would not continue? Once again I am not condoning the action that he took; however, this was not the first action he took - This all started on Dec. 16th.

mike is not over jr pro. there is a board and president who makes decisions. they are the ones responsible for lies but lets get real. no one complained BEFORE the game was played because they beat the SAME team a week earlier. It was only when they lost that they complained. The lies should not have been told by the board but they could have disputted the game beforehand. why don't they just replay the game with the correct kids?? by the way I heard that the upset parent with the poles kid played a t least one or two games of school ball then was forced to quit and play jr pro. that is unfair. kids should be allowed to play wherever and whenever at that age. the school should not have the right to make that rule or only let 4 and 5 grade ONLY. play.

Forgive my ignorance, but what experience, education and qualification dose Mike Reynolds have to oversee and operate a municipal recreation program?
