I support Coach Pierce 100%. At no time have i ever said he was the best coach in east tennessee. All im saying is regardless of everything else....Judy Blevens.....So called "preacher".....and all principles...what the boys and their parents did was wrong...

Owlsqbmama- Comparing school and basketball are like apples and oranges. "i hate using old phrases". A kid has no choice but to go to school and the parent is responsible for making sure that he or she does. If there is something at school that is hindering her learning process, then I commend you for being involved. A basketball player chooses to try out. Coach P cares and always has. He just does things his way and that is the way it is. Now, that may be the wrong type of coach for some to play under. He is definitely not a players coach. As for "fight the power"- Going about it the right way doesn't seem to work here. I like em both, but do you really think one Pierce (Athletic Director-if he still is) is going to fire another (b-ball coach), and if you know Coach P, then you know you can't really talk to him about playing time..... Of course, I don't think players or parents should do that anyway. I have a few kids that play sports ....and when it comes to coaching I don't say anything...I might bite my tongue but I don't say anything. But when it's something beyond bball that is MY business. And seems most of the problems doesn't have anything to do with basketball. My point is....my kids are just that... mine!!! And anything beyond the realm of sports is PErSoNaL! |

i don't know where you get your info but you are not entirely correct. pierce took carrington a couple times only. Preacher took him, poteets dad took him, reynolds took him for many years at lafollette and his fresh, soph. year, and preacher got him in the foster family he has now. Billie Ann Evan drove him everywhere, and kids and parents took turns getting him to practice this last two summers. i was in the car with him so i would know. if pierce is so great why didn't he know his kids had problems with him. of the 7 that quit it left 2 on the team so 3 of the 7 were at least playing and starting. of the new cougs many had quit on him before. now that is a FACT.

this is the first time i have been on here. first of all "pat" great job getting this thing started. someone finally took a interest in the local sports around here.good job! now, i have looked back at all what has been said on here about the fab seven and "their" coach, and our (county) coach. i played for coach pierce back in the 80's and it makes me sick what these seven young men and "their" coach did. WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? coach pierce was nothing but good to us and also a good coach. I THINK WE WERE STATE RANKED. WERE THE FAB 7?? I played and have been around aau and high school basketball for 25 years. and there is a big difference between the two. first aau is just a bunch of kids getting together during the summer to hang out a nd play something they love. high school basketball is a true team sport. a second family of sorts. so what COACH REYNOLDS and PARENTS need to do is go play aau and forget about something they cannot handle. HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL!!! now if you notice i didn't mention the kids. what happened in my opinion is not their fault. they were brainwashed by a so called coach and wanna be coaches to follow their lead. HEY BEST THING FOR U PEOPLE TO DO IS GET OVER YOURSELF AND LET THE KIDS PLAY! ARE U PEOPLE THAT MUCH BETTER THAN THE REST OF US. DON'T THINK SO!! To the kids who quit, goodl luck. To the so called coach and wanna be coaches, GROW UP. |

I do know Mike and my son has played for him...he isn't into BRAINWASHING!!! And just because Pierce was a good coach back in the 80's that doesn't mean he still is. If that was true we would never see any college coach changes...BUT we see them getting FIRED alll the time~!!! You know back in the 80's I did a lot of things and sure wouldn't do them now...THinNgS have changed!!! And about AAU for the thousandth time...is Very competitive...4 of the CC girls played for me and they were just as competitive as they are now!!! All of you that come on here and just to put Mike and the boys down...must not have a life! |
