Guy I hope alot of this ribbing towards each other is good natured. I really don't want these boards to degenerate into a flame war.
As far as the bball situation we can only wait and see what happens.
Keep up the discussion though I am glad everybody seems to be enjoying the chance to talk local sports.

this is to pat ... about "craziness in cougarland" ... well said my friend .... every word!!! and i can tell you that this team AND THIS COACH will be supported Friday night as well as throughout the rest of the season .....(oh, and seasons to come) there are soooooo many people making comments who really just don't have a clue ... it's the people like us who have been in sports throughout all these MANY years and who know each and every boy inside and out who understand the real deal..... as far as our central office "leaders", well ... seems to me like this is the FIRST GOOD decision they have made by choosing to keep pierce ..... if they hadn't , whoa... what a mistake!! lawsuits out the you know what... and like you said, it sets the stage for absolute pandomonium ...... then parents could make decisions about every other coach, teacher, cook and custodian ...... maybe the powers that be are begining to take a look at how other counties ACROSS OUR NATION run things and have maybe taken the hint .. either that or are shaking in their boots ...... for those of you (not pat of course) who don't like the way pierce coaches ..... nobody is making you go to the games ..... we have PLENTY of support without you! and just a side note that i have made reference to a number of times on this message board ... the know it alls who preach MIKE< MIKE< MIKE, might ought to talk MIKE into becoming a certified teacher who is eligible to coach ... anyone who knows anything about "the rules" know HE IS NOT AN OPTION!!! Keep in mind, I like him... he's a nice guy ... and a good coach ... BUT IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE JOB!! Rick Hunley has already said HE WOULD NOT DO IT ... he's a better man than that! AND FURTHERMORE .... there was never any danger in pierce being dismissed in the first place ....... i was right there with in the 80's pat ... and i, as well as everyone else i know am looking sooooooo forward to our next home game ... let's just sit back and watch..  GO COUGARS!!!!!!! |

No BBmama...the board etc. wants Pierce to step down, or Seale to recomend a change...neither will happen. If the board moves to replace Pierce then they will set themselves up for a lawsuit. The recomendation has to come from Mr. Seale, and I do not think that will happen. Those kids' season is over. Redhound...I was referring to that there were 16 people on here and no one was saying anything, just sitting and waiting~ |

I wouldnt be too sure that Pierce isnt gone after the year is over. I knew Mike isnt an option, I would just like to know why it would be so freakin hard for Pierce to allow his players to do what they do best. Run and Gun to get a lead, then run the motion offense that Peirce likes to sit on it. It would have been the best of both worlds. You get your great transition offense, a great defense, and a stall offense that would almost make it impossible for a team to come back.

Pat, awesome read on the main page I really enjoyed it!!! I'm interesed to see how they play Fri...I can expect them to play hard......what a tough first game for these guys...Clinton is one of the toughest places in East Tennessee to play...the student section is craaazy....how will they adapt???

starter ... great comments ... i'm with u all the way. unfortunately there are some previously planned activities that will keep a majority of people who want to be there friday from coming ... i'm tellin ya, the support in this town has been AMAZING the last couple of days ..... just get ready for the first home game after christmas ... check out OUR student section!!! clinton fans may come just to take a few lessons from our fans have a great day |
