Another fond memory is the original "Holy Moley" moment when Bo Vinsant shot a three pointer while falling out of bounds at Halls. He actually made the shot.

He actually made the shot. the shot was a buzzer beater at the end of the third quarter...he was falling into the CC bench when it went in...we were doing live radio then as well as teh replays on ch 12... someone asked me how I came up with "Holy Moley"...I told them that if I had said "holy sh*t" that I wouldnt be on teh air much longer...actually it was just a moment of broadcasting excitement!!! |

anyone remember the region basketball tourney when one the donald twins yelled a remark at an official and then pointed to his brother, and his brother got kicked out?

Yeah I was there. I think channing was the one who got kicked out for it lol. Who is about to graduate this december from etsu. congrats.

The footbrawl against Willard Mitchems alma-mater Bell Co. This was hilarious. The pile was about six-feet deep and the bodies were flying all over.

I believe that it happened in 84 or 85 and it was a season game. If I recall correctly the refs called the game and it was unfinished.

My favorite was the Bearden vs. Cougars game during the Playoff year when Chris Johnson made WBIR's Player of the Week. On Chris' first two touches, he went 80+ yards for TDs. His stat line was, if memory serves me, 2 rushes, 168 yards, 2 TDs. One run in particular stands out. He was hit after about 3 yards, ran through the tackle, faked the jock off the safety and then outran everyone to the endzone. Power, elusivness and speed - very nice to see.

When Scott Moore and Smith Co. came to town in 96 and he took the first shot of the game which got swatted to the top of the student section.
