When are the Eagles and the Owls having Spring Practice? We've got 23 coming out for the spring session so far and Robbins is coming over for a scrimmage on the 10th. We'd like to scrimmage again on the 17th if anyone is interested. At this time we've got 9 sixth graders, 9 seventh graders and five eighth graders. We haven't gotten any kids from Wynn, Elk Valley or White Oak yet. We only have 3 returning starters, but we're filling more helmets than we did last year. I'd like to wish all of the Campbell County football teams the best of luck this season.

devilcoach that sounds like good #s for JES happy to hear that. When do the high schools start over there. We start on Mon., we have scrimmages lined up with Oak Ridge & Co cke Co. The only bad news is that we will be using our 3rd string QB as the first two will still be in Baseball. Mark Slay who was our Freshman QB last season is listed as 3rd on the depth chart & will gain some valuable experience. Right now our Offensive Coordinator Brad Taylor is the interim head coach & more than likely will be named as the head coach.

Coach Oakes and JHS start spring practice on the 7th. I don't know if they have any scrimmages scheduled yet or not. Dino has 5 players still in baseball so I think he said he'll be running Spring Practice with about 19 players. Fairview and Huntsville are going about the same time we are so I'm sure we'll square off with at least one of them. We have them both on our schedule this year. I wish Bearden the best of luck this year, I know it'll be hard without "Coach", I hope Coach Slay has a good season.

The start of spring practice looked great over here yesterday. I have never seen a team look so smooth on the first day of spring...of course we are only replacing 4 starters from a team that went 7-3 last season, & the baseball team got upset in the district tournament last weekend so we got our top QBs back. How did CC look? What about JHS & the middle schools?

The Cougars have about 60 out and that is without any freshmen to be of course. They scrimmage thingye County this Friday and Halls the next, both away. I am excited about the new offensive style. Alot of Wing T elements.

Jellico will scrimmage Robbins this evening at Jellico. We've got a lefty quarterback who is fast and accurate at short range passing. Our backfield is not blinding fast but they're powerful. Our line looks 150% better than last year (not hard to do) and we've got a whole new attitude. I am looking forward to seeing what they can do. We're running mostly pro-I and single wing this year. Some double wing and some power I but not a lot. We don't really have much deep threat so we're sticking to the short passing game and running the ball a lot. I'm pleased with the boys this year, there's not one thingie on the team.(ha,ha)

Well for those interested we scrimmaged oak ridge tonight. The scrimmage was pretty even. OR did bust a few long runs on us & also hit a 80 yard TD bomb against 1 on 1 coverage for a TD. Offensively we had a short TD run. The offense moved the ball up & down the field each possession, we may have scored a few more times if it hadnt been for the fact that we were playing a 10 play series each time. How did CC do against Co cke Co. tonight? We scrimmage the co ckes next Thursday.

Anytime you scrimmage OR you are going up against the best. Even if alot of their players are in spring sports. Their backups could start at alot of places.
