LMS lost their first game in the tournament by the score of 64 to 60 to the Science Hill Middle. A valiant comeback falls a little short...................details to come.

Just wanted to give a game report for this interested. We fell behind early, due to tremendous shooting by science hill. They shot 8-11 from three point range in the first half alone, and finishes the game with 12 or 13 three's. We went into half-time down by 20. We cut it to 19 by the end of the 3rd quarter. And then proceeded to play some of the most inspiring basketball of the year. We trailed by 22 at one point in the 4th quarter, but managed to fight our way back to a three point game, and ended up falling by four. I just want to congratulate the players on a tremendous season. Keep your heads up guys. And thanks to the parents and fans for there contribution to this great season.

Most teams would've given up at half time but our kids played their hearts out in the 3rd and 4th quarters. It was a great game in the end and our guys never gave up. I am so proud of every player on this team.
Thank you Owls for a GREAT season! Who could ask for more?
You are still Area 2 Champions and the only Area 2 team to make it to State! Quite an accomplishment!
Good luck next year!

If they had played the first half like the second.....we would have beat them by 20! They hadn't had to run with a team this year! They were very caught off guard. And it's hard to match up to a team that is twice your size as a whole.
* If that was their second place team...don't think I would want to see their first~
Very Proud Of You Owls!

Congratulations on a Great Season!!
Having to dig out of a huge hole in the second half was a little more than the Owls could overcome. It really hurt them in the fourth quarter when they were just completely out of gas. Science Hill managed to keep their players rested and just was able to out hustle and outrun the Owls to almost every ball. It was a valiant comeback and nothing to hang their heads about.
Once again, congratulations on a great season!

Science Hill has always had tough athletic teams. There is no shame in losing to them. It is time for the Owls to take a week or so off and then start working towards the fututre.

Agreed Pat, there are alot of good athletes in the Tri-City area. Your right, there is no shame in losing to them. Science Hill was just the better team on that night.

The only thing that I did not like about the whole thing was the way the media covered it. Sorry Pat this is the first time I have attacked you. I really felt that promoting the county was good, but LaFollette deserved its own recognition for their season. When I saw the picture with JMS but none with only LMS as Champions I was a little disturbed. Otherwise congrats to LMS on a successful season...it doesn't get easier so keep working in the future.

Oh I had every intention of being there. UNfortunately I was at the park with my keys and cell locked in my car. I think everybody from LaFollette knows that I have covered them well this year. I really wish I could have been there.

ABSOUTLEY REDHOUND! I thought the LaFollette Press should have had ONLY the Owls on the front page and instead of it saying they "clipped the Eagles" it should've read "Undefeated Owls 20-0"! I gotta give Pat credit though he had a photo gallery!

You know this is Campbell County!!!...and it always falls back to who you know ....or who is writing the columns! And where do their kids go to school! We all know that the sports reporter's kids went to Jacksboro. And that is what it boils down to! That is why we have to read about what JF. White is doing in sports...and frankly ....who cares?

Reading about JFW in the Lafollette press makes me sick. For instance todays issue.
