I have had a daughter that cheered. And it is a lot more involved than having one play basketball. Right now one of the cougar cheerleaders is family....and I talk to them the night of the competition....They WON! get over it! They work just as hard and all depending on the person probably harder than some of the other sports we have~
*Just for you mightyman....my daughter's cheer leading squad won first place!

lms mamma, get over the middle school stats, it doesn't mean crap when your are talking about hs sports. Come on up to the next level I apologize to everyone else for talking basketball on a cheerleading thread, but this nut got under my skin. The middle school stat she provided was that the Owls are 10-0, and to me that relates to our high school sports because they are the future of it. Thanks mamma for your input on the owls, I appreciate it and I'm sure that everyone else who realizes that sports are just as important in middle school as they are in high school, appreciates it too. Ignore that fool

How true, for alot the players it starts early in Jr. Pro when the basic fundamentals should be taught. Those are the building blocks that pay off when you get to MS and HS. Unfortunately there are not alot of coaches out there now who teach the fundamentals anymore. And that is sadly showing up now in the players here in the county.

HAHA good one lms mama, this CCHSparent06 is just like most people in the county, looking 4 something to gripe about. Since you were at the karns game your son must be playing football. Did the cheerleaders leaving cause CCHS to fumble that game away or something. Worry a little more about the game moron!

No I dont have son playing football and its nice my posts keep getting deleted but Judy Blevins gets ripped apart daily and thats ok. Why are my statements not valid statements up for discussion? Isnt this a discussion board? If the cheerleaders have no impact on the game then why are they there? Are you saying they are there every game for NO REASON??

One of your posts got deleted. The cheerleading coach told me that what your post said was not the case. That was good enough for me as she has always been straight with me in the past. You aren't even a member of this board ,just a guest. Registered members opinions also hold more wieght with me.

uhm, so if in fact you are a parent. WHY ARE YOU RAGGING ON HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS? seriously- grow up!!!
Our cheerleaders work countless hours of each week trying to be the best they can be. give them respect, not your stupid nonsense because you're hung up on ONE FOOTBALL game.
Im sure the boys didnt have a problem with the girls leaving. Im sure they probably didnt notice they werent there the second half. BECAUSE THEY DONT CARE. its not their place to sit on the sidelines and watch what the cheerleaders are doing. its their job to play the game. so when in fact you find one of the players that had a problem it. THEN you can post a negative thread about the girls.
yeah, they also didn't cheer last friday night. but go ask every basketball player that played if they had a problem with it. THEY ALL SAY NO. the cchs cheerleaders had it approved and even apologized to all coaches and all players for missing that game. They even made stockings for each player that boarded the bus and wished them good luck before they left. And at least ten of them were there for the victory over clinton, and cheered from the student section. So, cougarparent, sit there and grip about something now.. Oh wait, im sure you will anyways. b/c apparently you have nothing better to do in your life than try to knock people down for actually winning.
**Keep up the good work girls. You all are great.

I can't believe we are having arguments over cheering at basketball and football games. I don't want to take anything away from cheering. It is time consuming, costly, and challenging when considering tumbling. On the other hand, don't get tore up over them leaving or not coming too much. I always liked them at our games, but normally got excited over a big play we had made, not "M-I-S-S.. miss it, miss it"

I encourage anybody who doesn't see cheerleading as a sport to go to one of the big competitions. It is as intense as anything I have been to.

thanks pat for the comment on cheerleading. i am very proud of the cheerleaders this year...as you know this is my first year coaching...we all have worked very hard this year..there has been a few comments on this post that are true, but also not true...yes we left the karns game early, but it was pouring the rain the wind was blowing..and i had a few sick cheerleaders.NO we did not go to the haunted caves..(i mean really think about it WE WERE SOAK AND WET)... yes we did not cheer the clinton game..we did magic night at cchs (500 people attended).. but remember after the cheerleaders performed we raced to the clinton game and cheered in the student section..we had a competition the next day in gatlinburg where we took 1st place..(we also won 1ST place at the fair).. i am hoping we get to the the athletic competition in march.. so please before anyone post anything about the cheerleaders please check your story out..or better yet ask me the coach.. i can promise you this in the next years you will see alot more from the cheerleaders as far as talent and performance.

My daughter is a former cheerleader. It is a honor to be a cheerleader for CCHS. It has a tradition of high academic expectations and grueling work ethic. This years team is very dedicated and focused. These girls put in more hours than any one sport at CCHS, because they cheer all year. I commend the way they supported the team at Clinton. Many came after a hard practice. The practices right before competion can last 3-4 hours. Ur daughter has to soak in warm water because of the sore muscles and bruises. They contacted the coach and the boys and I appreciate their professionalism. Also these girls missed in order to practice for a competion that they represent our school. I do realize that cougar guest probablly is upset and did not fully unerstand everything these young women sacrifice.
