Hey All,
Those CCHS Cheerleaders (who are exptected to be cheering in front of the courthouse on tuesday) won FIRST PLACE at the competition in Gatlinburg this weekend ... this is among other FIRST PLACE wins this year! Way to go girls!!
Looks like we have a first class season ahead of us from now on ... good cheerleaders, good girls team, good guys team !! GO COUGARS!
However I'm sad for the former players who were "promiced" they would never have to sit out a game if they quit. NO they shouldn't be allowed back, the boys now deserve to play, but I sure hope their parents are ashamed!!! I saw one of them leave with tears in his eyes and he said to his friend "this just sucks ... we shouldnt have left".

There is no question that cheerleaders are some of the most athletic people at that school. To do what they do, is awsome! But I question whether they should be at the courthouse cheering on Tuesday, this is purely a political game and not an athletic competition. That is one of the things that everyone is forgetting, the "7" have spent months preparing for this season and have more time and effort involved (including coach pierce) than anyone, especially the people on this board!

i think the cheerleaders weren't going to be there cheering for pierce .... i think they were just going to be there for support of our new team ... that is what they do on the field and court so i would assume they just wanted to be there to show their support at the courthouse as well. it wouldn't matter anyway, when is the last time the board actually listened to a student? uuhhhh... NEVER .. pretty sad huh? they don't listen to parents, administrators, teachers or the general public either ... wonder who they do listen to? ?

Props to ya big blue... most of the 7 play 8-10 monthes out of the year, traveling all over the country playing against some tuff competition.. but everyone loves a underdog.... sooner or later Coach won't lose 20 or more games in a season. Some try to make Coach out to be the victim of this vicious crime( boys leaving) but imo he needs to be tried on 5 counts of losing seasons in a row... a team is only as good as its Coach....

Yes, those dedicated cheerleaders would be the same ones who left the Karns football game early; however, the reason in why they left is wrong. Yes, there may have been a haunted cave near cars, but as far as I am aware none of the cheerleaders went there during the Karns game. There were a total of 6 cheerleaders (7 including the mascot) who stayed at the Karns game. This was their own decision, if they could have been out there cheering on the sidelines after everyone else left I'm sure they would have; however, they harbored no hard feelings to their teammates who left. One of the cheerleaders had a concussion. Most were sick. It was an ongoing downpour of rain that night. The wind could knock you donw. In no way were the trying to say "oh, we just don't want to be here." Granted, the football players did not leave, but then again I'm sure they did not have that choice. If they did, I'm sure some of them would have chosen to leave also. Leaving one game early does not give reason to say that the CCHS cheerleaders are not dedicated. Supporting the other teams and their school comes first and foremost to them. Yes, they missed the basketball game last Friday; however, they also had a competition the next day and performed in Magic Night at the CCHS gym to prepare themselves for it. That is an acceptable excuse I believe. They work just as hard as any of the other athletes at CCHS, academically and atheletically. Practicing almost every day a week, plus cheering at the games proves that. They should be supported for their conduct. They were not "cheering at the courthouse steps" but simply going to support their school. Isn't that their job? No, they should not take sides, but I don't believe I've heard them take one. They support their teams no matter who plays, and no matter who coaches. As should everyone else.
