Nice post "just a thought" I for one am very proud of the girls ... I can't believe anyone would say anything negative about them!! As far as our "poster" who had a problem with them leaving a football game early .... maybe they should have been watching the game instead of nosing around about what the cheerleaders were doing ..... when they compete they place first .... r there any other sports in cc we can say that about???

No me I deleted a post that was negative about the cheerleaders. I talked to their sponsor about it and she told me what happened at the Karns game. I'll take a coach's word over a nonregistered member anyday. Oh and a hearty congrats to the LMS boys. I look forward to seeing them in action after the new year begins.

I'll take a coach's word over a nonregistered member anyday. So why not delete other negative posts? Plenty of bads ones about Judy Blevins that should be deleted. And I stand by my statement of the cheerleaders. They left the game before even half-time and the ones that stayed were not allowed to cheer without the coach. What is so different about them not cheering and the ball players not playing? I say new try-outs for the cheerleaders that left!

Ok enough is enough, if cougarparent2006 just took a little time to look back (if they were actually at that game) The asst. coach was in attendance and there.....those girls or their parents don't deserve to be ragged on....let me fill you in on some facts of cheerleading......We haul our girls to football games(have you looked at gas prices?).....We haul our girls to competitions(again gas prices, comp. fees, food ,hotels).....WHICH WE WIN !.....We pay out large amounts of money(approx. 700+dollars every year) just so our girls can cheer on your boys/girls in their sports.....We get approx 3 months off per year that we are not supporting our team effort.....We do countless hours of community service....Our girls adopted a single Mom and 5 children for christmas...We initiated the 1st Annual Toy Drive at CCHS which by the way was a huge success we supplied the Reaches Christmas Party with approx 100 toys that were left over after taking care of 3 other families....We traveled to schools this past year(again Gas) to show our support for the staff and faculity....We participate in the Christmas Parade every year.....We encourage Academics above all just wish you could take a look at the GPAs...Our 4 Seniors are all College Bound with at least 3 of them trying out for the Cheer Squad at their choice of School.....Now lets get to the injuries these girls suffer each season.....Black Eyes, Bruises, busted lips and noses, Sprained Ankles, wrists, and Knees, Oh yea lets not forget about the concussion and whip lash one of the girls suffered this year.....Oh and we are not even considered a sport.....Now try to kick us in the teeth....It's not going to happen.....We as parents stand behind our girls....We as parents would never encourage our girls to walk out on our teammates for we are truly a TEAM there is no I in that word and without all 4 letters you have nothing....Our jobs as parents is to instill as much humanity, morales, love, respect, and compassion into our children as possible......This can never be accomplished by undermining, underhanded ,selfish acts.......We as parents Love our girls and Admire our girls for all the effort they put into their Choice of Sport....And yes it should be a Sport....Now don't jump on a bandwagon and think I'm complaining that's not happening....I would give my last dollar to further the effort of any of these 21 Cheerleaders.....Just remember YOU can throw rocks at my glass house anytime (which by the way is bulletproof) BUT LEAVE OUR GIRLS ALONE !!! You as parents need to grow up and let these kids have a chance at teenage years the World will Bite them in the Behind soon enough.... GO CCHS CHEERLEADERS YOU ROCK OUR WORLD DON'T LET THE PETTY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD EVER MAKE YOU THINK LESS OF YOURSELVES!!!!!

No problem from here, I admire what you do for your child and her team. There is no doubt that the cheerleaders are some of the most athletic young people at that school. Way to go cheerleaders! There is alot more support for you than you think there is!

I had no idea the cheerleaders did so much charity work. I knew they were great athletes and it must be a sport because ESPN covers it.

I no argument that cheerleading is a sport and I know what it takes to be on a first rate team. But the incident at Karns gives fuel for the fire for those who believe it is not a sport. And now hearing they did not cheer for the basketball team Friday night (could it be because of all the controversity?) So rain and wind and a few sick girls and they can't stay but they want to say they are a part of the sports program? The Karns cheerleaders didnt leave and neither did any of the other schools in the area. If they were sick they should have stayed home. How many times do you see a sport where the players (football, basketball, golf, tennis, baseball, track, ) just up and leave the game or not show up? Only when the officals called a game! If you want the respect to say you're a sport then you have to do what is expected of you and the cheerleaders and/or sponsor failed Campbell County that night. And if the seven basketball players that sat out the Tuesday game are not allowed to play then why are the cheerleaders that sat out the Friday game allowed back?

Obviously you didn't read the part that they did not cheer at the game because they were prepping for a competition. I was at the game and saw some of them come in and cheer the boys on from the stands.

If you want to get down to brass tacks about it then fine it is my board and if I choose to delete something(which I very rarely do) then I will. I spoke to the cheerleading coach about it and was told that was not what happened and that is good enough for me. She has always been straight with me in the past and I have no reason to believe she wasn't when we discussed that.
