I heard some of those who deserted talking loudly, saying so all could hear..."did he ask for your shoes back? he aint gettin mine! and i'm keeping my jersey too!" and guess what...as loud as he was talking no one seemed to care!!! i then discussed it with two other english teachers and we all had a good laugh about the whole situation, especially about the immaturity of the adults who set up the "church meeting"

Hats off to the boys that played and won, they are all good kids. a couple of short comments this fine morning. does it really only take 1 win to save a coaches job? if my math is right his overall record is now 90-153 thats an impressive total. and why are we still blaming the boys that decided to do what coach told them to do, go home. i think it is so immature for us ( i guess me too) as adults to run the boys who left the team into the ground. they made a choice, right or wrong now its time to move on, support the new time , i think we owe it to the kids to always do that no matter the coach. ( most are really good kids on the team) . but imo coach shouldnt be judged on 1 game. that has never been my beef with the coaching at cchs. its the 150+ losses over the past 9 years that i have an issue with. i saw someone post on here what a quitter was. i have a question for us all, if your divorced are you a quitter?you quit your family.. if you change jobs are you quitter? your quit your last job... if you stop living wrong and follow god are you a quitter? you quit sinning...why would any parent who cares about thier child call another child a quitter? right or wrong the boys did what they thought they had to do. agreed or not they are still kids making a stand for what they think is right. i mean this is america right??? we all have different view on here some more bias than others. but that is what make this country great.... good luck to the new team.. bottom line is about a winning team and we havent had one of those in what 8-10 years? lets not jump to hanging coaches jersy in the rafters at cchs for winning a game with some new faces. lets judge him for the body of work for the entire year..... again.. its about results.

This is perhaps one of the best posts that I have read on this board. How can any intelligent person argue with this? One of the problems with this county is that people just stay in the same old rut and try not to make any waves. Or they just stay in the background complaining and whining and never do anything. If no one ever stood up for what they believe in, our freedoms wouldn't exist!

i'd like to see alllllll the coaches records ....... yep, in the 30 some years of cchs football we have had 2 WINNING seasons .... i truly am proud of that BUT why isn't anybody after those coaches??? intelligent i am, and looking at over all percentages just isn't happening ..... by the way, in pierce's stint of coaching in the late 80's (you remember ... when the losses were few and far between) there were still people who loved him and hated him .... that's the way the wonderful world of sports works my friends!!! winning or not you have the lovers and haters ...... as far as those boys making a stand ..... maybe they did but boy they sure did it in the wrong way!! i bet those parents are feeling pretty lousey right now by not helping teach their children the right way to go about things ....... with that being said, connie minton must be a good mom who has taught her son a great deal of character because he certainly showed it ... johnathan green is a FINE young man ... he just didn't get the opportuinity to show his good character because the "good church people" accidentally FORGOT to invite him and his parents to the "meeting" .......

You know really I couldn't care less who coaches basketball at the high school now...it's just CRAZY! But I do want to say one thing ...no I think I need to say one thing....I know this isn't a Church service but if your not and if you are....a Christian....there is a few lines God drew in the bible...and a few of you have crossed it already...but I would be very careful what I say about the Church and his people. I may talk smack on here....BUT I know who my maker is...and he is the Ultimate when everything is said and done.

I do not think playthegame was questioning the church and for religious reasons, but a church is for worship and prayer, not having a team meeting!!!!!!!!!

I guess then all the CC football banquets and all the other practices held there are a sin too? ? Why bite the hand that feeds you? When it's providing everyone with services that is good but when it is something just to gripe about it's different huh? My son has boyscout meetings there...a lot of things that don't have anywhere to be held ......they are kind enough to do so!!!!

You know zook.....I don't know what your problem is with me....you only helped coach my son at LMS football all year and didn't have a problem....so What now? I was just saying....God probably don't really care who coaches either....so leave him out of it...and it says...."Touch not thine anointed". He didn't say if his anointed is in the wrong if the case was...he just said DON"T!!!! Is all happy in CC now?
