good point pressman.....when do we say we have lost enough games before we make a change. 150 games? 200? 44 - 113 is sad for any coach no matter the so called talent level .... some say he is good, some say he is bad, some say they dont care, and some get mad, but bottom line is simple in this case...its time for a new coaching face.......alot of support for and against coach. I am sure he is a good person, and i for one dont want to see the focus on all the problems . these are boys ( young men) we are talking about... i know parents are hard to deal with sometimes, but if you dont want to deal with parents dont teach or dont coach. to build a total team you first make everyone feel like family. and i will venture to say that has never happened at CCHS . we hear all the folks saying he is the coach and the boss, which is true , but he is also a teacher. a teacher of the game, a teacher of morales , a teacher of leadership , a teacher of family values, a teacher of brotherhood. and a teacher of lifes lessons. from what i have seen and heard on here and in talking to some of the kids, he has a worse record of teaching than he ever had at bball....... but hey thats just my take on it..... i pay my $50.00 a month for high speed internet so i may as well use it----- LOL

Gr81 I see where you come from, I just think a parents role should be limited at the level. But I disagree that he should focus on teaching lifes lessons and morales, if thats the case what is the role of the parent? Not trying to stir up a hornets nest, just would like your opinion.

point taken zook, imo a coach is a role model. with the way things are in todays world coaches are in the spot light more now than ever, i by no way mean any disrespect for coach pierce, i have had a few conversations with him and he was always nice to me and answered any question that i had. that being said, i do know that alot of coaches are like parents to some of the kids they coach, they are there for them at anytime day or night, now is this right or wrong? who knows dude. all i know is that kids tell me that Coach seems distant, withdrawn, and would rather be somewhere else. several were really let down that he didnt come to any summer games. if a coach has a super star on his team , a D1 prospect would it be right for a coach to nurture that kid? most coaches would kill to have an all- state player, but what about the kid on the team that is 2nd string. and is having problems at home. shouldnt a coach reach out to that kid as well. i just feel like when you are talking about coaching kids( young boys) you have to be more involved in their lives. i mean we are not talking about 21 year old men ....... ok i guess i rambled on enough about that-----LOL ps and yeah i do feel like the parents have to bring up thier children, but its the village that raises the child

I thought Pierce at least attended the Lenoir City camp. I know he missed out at LMU, and Georgetown, but I know his reasoning for LMU so that doesnt bother me. I think we both make good points for good discussion.

Why would anyone vote Pierce? Yeah he should finish the year but he is barely winning more games than the football team wins & his percentage is much worse. Leave it to Campbell County...bottom of the state in academics have to stay that way in sports so no one can say that we put sports over academics!! bottom of the state in academics??? where does this info come from???

Rookie, hey apparently you wasn't around for the teams in the mid to late 80's and early 90's. If I recall, they were at or near the top most of the time.

I just noticed the poll. I know I do not think he would return, but my vote is for Coach King. I have have experiences with most the others mentioned and some are good people but not good coaches for one reason or another. One just too nice but knows basketball. Coach King had what it took all way around. Worked well with boosters and I knew of no one telling him what to do. He was his own person. This seems to be a problem based on some posts but I do not think anyone ever accused him of changing anything based on parents wishes.
He had the love of the program, was from here, played here and wanted to place winners on the floor. I can understand some of the young folks from JMS on here who really did not know him, or only knew by what was told them by people who may have been jealous of his success at a rival school, but most his former players would play their hearts out for him and I am sure that he could work the same magic with this group as well.
Just saying that anyone can have a good year or two here and there but hard to argue with 15 or 20 years (or however many). Just my opinion from experience, I know many have other thoughts. He is coaching now in a county nearby, anyone know where I have not heard?

The Len cheer squad seems to think we no longer need to vote. Word is Len gets either a (1) lifetime contract or (2) an automatic four year rollover contract. What do others think who are not cheerleaders?
Keep up the vote, or get tickets to the state tournament as another suggested (somewhere on here)?

Vic is out of coaching and is involved with the tm$$a !!!! Vic would never coach at CC with Seale as the principal. Vic is currently asst. coach of the Union County girls squad. True Seals and Vic don't get along, for what reason, i don't really know. He would be a good coach any where he goes. Just look at the four east tn. championship banners. (By the way, where are they at?
