Just heard this morning that Justin Price turned the CCHS job down. Where does this leave the program now? Why did he turn the job down? I heard that as usual the support is not there & the money isn't right. What does everyone think?

I don't know. I'm assuming it may have had something to do with money. Even if they matched coaching pay Anderson pays teachers more. I haven't talked with Justin so I won't say.
I have heard from a few in Campbell County & even a few up in my neck of the woods that Tony Lambert has now been offered the job. I'm sure we will have an answer to that in the next few days.
I think the bigger question should be what if Lambert turns it down. Keep this name in mind Shane Goodwin.

I agree with bulldogcoach. I think they did match a lil above his AC pay but the teaching pay is higher. They can't match that. And of course his brother is going to come and the assistants don't get paid enough for gas! I hope for the boys sake that they get someone in here and get their weight lifting back on track. It's just hurting the boys right now. All because it's all about politics, never about the kids! We hear all the time on this board that everyone cares about the kids. Then they are going to have to put their money where their mouth is! Actions speak WAY louder than words. Whoever they do get in here is going to be someone that is all about the kids, not themselves. Cause CC is never going to measure up to the surrounding counties.

Your post is consistent to what I have heard - yet no information has been officially released. Obviously Plan A has not worked!!

I really follow basketball more than football, but from what I am hearing if Lambert is considering CC then we are better off than I thought. I can not imagine an offer to Price came first. Maybe the "turning it down" was more of a "the offer is going somewhere else" instead. Not sure but unless there was someone on here who is in the "inner circle" then my money is on Lambert is the first choice. As I see it comparing the two options there is none. Lambert is a much better selection. However I can nnot see him leaving there for here.
I would say more but I need to rush off a quick email to Bill Haslam turing down the position of ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT Commissioner. Just does not pay enough!

Cougar paw you need to realize that this joke that we have now called the athletic advisory comittee...a bunch of guys who never even played football let alone coached it thinking they know it all. What a joke they are! They think Justin Price is the next coming of Christ....the savior of Campbell County football. They were going to offer him the job first no matter who applied.
I just hope no matter who they hire that people realize its going to be a struggle. There have been former NFL players & former college coaches coach CCHS in the past. All with very minimal success.

I am by no means in the know... but the chatter has really slowed down on the new football coach deal.
Again, this is very dysfunctional for a school to be run this way. Hire good principals, give them their expectations for the job, and let them do it.
The coaching community is a tight knit community. They talk to each other about their jobs and if you screw one over - other coaches will be very reluctant to take that job unless they are desperate or have been screwed over in another situation.
Nevertheless, God have mercy on our community and may we get someone who will make a postive impact on our children - in spite of our leadership.

Well, until we get the school board to stay out of the process and get some support behind the programs, they will continue to flounder where they are now or even worse! It is an absolute joke what they pay these coaches and remember the old saying, "you get what you pay for"!!

I heard but do not know for sure that they are now offering the job to either a current or former college coach at Pikeville KY. He apparently runs a fast paced spread offense. I want to say his last name is Mynatt but I could be wrong. One things for sure they need to hurry, but at the same time they need to make a hire that will be good for the long term.

Well if thats him he may be the best they have offered yet. His resume looks very impressive. With that being said good college coaches aren't always good high school coaches & vice versa. But I'm sure his football IQ is very high.
Could be a great hire.
