I wanted to let everyone know that Wartburg is receiving votes in the associated press state 2a rankings. We are #12 in the state.
Also, our All-state middle linebacker Aaron Hutchison won the pro pick for prepxtra defensive player of the week & will be on high school heroes tomorrow night after the Anderson Co./Central game.
We play Harriman Friday at home & it will be on 101.3 FM, which can be picked up in Caryville. maybe even Jacksboro.

Thats great. I wish the Cougars could get ranked. I don't know if thats ever happened here even during the winning season. I know I picked against you guys again this week, but if you all beat Harriman I will pick your team the rest of the season or at least until you lose one lol.
What is the best record that Wartburg has ever had? Any undefeated seasons?

Our QB set school records by hitting 24-33 for 221 yards & 4 TDs with 0 int. All except for the yards are new records. He is on the ballot for prepxtra player of the week if you could vote for him it would be appreciated. I dont know how good of a shot he has after the performance Tanner Williams had on Thursday night.
Wartburg has been playing football since 1945 & they have never started 5-0. We have a chance to do that this Friday night in our homecoming game against Oakdale. Could make some history there. Now they have had 2 undefeated teams, but they weren't perfect. In 1947 they won 6 lost 0 but had 3 ties. In 1951 they went 8-0-1 & the tie was the 3rd game of the year so even that team didnt start 5-0.
Thanks for the support come catch us whenever the cougars have an open week.

WOW!!! I was honestly shocked when I saw the score on Friday night Hits. 41-12 over Harriman I couldnt believe it. I guess im gonna have to start picking your team to win. Good job coach.
I had to come back & add to my post. Just opened up the sentinel & see that you guys are now ranked #9 in the state. Congrats, making a believer out of me. Im about to hop on the bandwagon. haha

We are now 5-0 for the first time in school history. Also, have moved up to a #8 ranking in the 2a state poll. That is the highest this school has ever been ranked, they had been #9 on two previous occassions. We are open this week before hosting Coalfield in what should be a great game.
