If Geno had canceled this series the Lady Vols fans would be rioting all over Knoxville........I am surprised some Lady Vol fans isn't upset about this.....It isn't fair to them! Amen to that. You know that all these sheep would be hollering all over Geno about canceling if it were him that chickened out like Pat did. By the way, I am as big a UT fan as any of you, but I call it like I see it. I am not so much a fan that I am blind to the absolute factual truth, like some of you want to be. I am not about UConn and against UT. I just happen to think that since UConn signed the contract to renew, they did the right thing. And since Pat chickened out and did not sign to renew, she cowarded out and did the wrong thing. That is just the facts as they are. You cannot change the facts, no matter how much water you want to carry for her. |

i don't think pat is afraid of anyone she plays the toughest schedule in the county, i think some people are just miserable and the only way to let off steam is to down the county sports and now pat summitt get a life orangewashed. good job vixen at least there is someone on here that knows a little something about everything

Obviously someone besides me saw where she was in the paper again crying because she has taken so much heat over her cowardice.
I do not care what she says at this point, she cannot justify quitting this series. Just look at the her won-loss record against Geno and look at the recruits Geno has brought in the last couple of years. UConn is about to go on another series of back to back Championship runs I would say.
And it is plan and simple, she just does not want to run over by that train anymore. I wish that our women could romp over Geno every year, but Pat has just not been able to get that done on a regular basis. And now, we just will not know unless the NCAA makes sure they meet in the tournament, which I am sure they will look to do.

I just dont understand it.......if there was 1 womens game that I watched that was it.....I think it is unfortunate for the game.

CBS and the NCAA would tell you, it was the highest rated women's game every year.
I just cannot think of any acceptable excuse to do this to the game itself. In the article, she made it seem as though it was no one's business why she did it.

I'll tell you why I think it was outrageous for Pat to cancel the series with UCONN.
The fact is the entire Women's Athletic Department, as a whole, runs a DEFICIT when it comes to the overall UT Athletic Budget. The 'Lady Vols' Basketball team, until 1 year ago, also ran a deficit. (They made a profit of $23,000 last year.).
So you have the MEN's Athletic Programs that are paying for the Women to play ball and blah blah blah. THE BIGGEST GAME OF THE YEAR FOR THE UT LADY VOLS, FINANCIALLY, IS NOW GONE. So it means that the UT MEN will continue to bear the COSTS of the 'Lady Vols'.
....GAME ON....

Its funny to see that there is only two jokers on here that actually take Pat's side. Even though Women's basketball wasn't much to watch ne ways, Pat has definately ruined it now.
