You obviously believe that the boys are the problem and not those who are doing the coaching. I believe that the majority of the boys on the team are not lazy, want to be good players, and work hard at what they are doing. I have watched a lot of practices, and games over the past three seasons. There is nothing you can say to convince me that these boys can’t or don’t want to be winners. They need to be taught how. Did you even read my post! Or just see the word fundamentals? That's what makes me mad...I DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING CLOSE TO BLAMING THE BOYS! I NEVER said these boys don't want to be winners! And I know they can! Who are you? Don't say I said something that I didn't! I tend to believe my son, but thank you anyway! The third season back my son was a senior so I know he knows what he's talking about. My son playing now...has ever confidence in this Cougar squad. They believe they can win. And they get upset when they hear the community saying otherwise. Which is mostly what they hear. Their motto this year is: Faith Fight Finish2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: So they have the faith and they are going to fight to the FINISH!

And I quote:
"I talk to my older son (played during the winning season) and he says that fundamentals were always being taught. And it was something that they hounded on. He also said that when they aren't being used is because of laziness."

I have 4 and believe me......if they weren't lazy at times...well, I guess something would be wrong with them! These aren't Pros. They aren't going to do everything perfect. That doesn't meant that they aren't doing their darnedest to win! I have known most of these boys since they were in elementary and I KNOW THEY CAN WIN! Not just 3 yrs! And laziness can be because they want that tackle, want that block, want that sack...they don't think they just do it! Not intentionally but out of passion. Discipline comes with maturity. (in sports and in life)

Vixen, glad to hear that! These are for the majority a hard working bunch of young men.
True “Discipline comes with maturity”.
Perfection comes with a practical knowledge of what you are doing and practice. This is where our “want to” players are lacking.
As for who I am? Let’s just say I am a concerned parent like you that wants the best for his sons, the team, and Campbell County Sports.
Since I speak my heart on this subject I’d prefer to remain just cougardad. This is to avoid any possible repercussions toward my sons.

You know, sometimes opposing teams are slow to cough up tapes. It doesn't happen a whole lot, but sometimes it takes longer to get tapes than the coach would like. We don't swap a lot of tapes, so I don't know if there are any rules about this, I only know that sometimes you get tapes right away, sometimes it's almost gameday.
I have seen CCHS play and they're not lazy or incompetent. I don't really think anyone is saying that here. Execution wins games. The greatest play in the world only works if everything goes as planned. One missed block, one missed tackle, one soft route and it's shot in the foot. Unfortunately, almost every time we get caught making a mistake, it's 6 for the other guys. I think I heard somewhere that "the team who makes the fewest mistakes wins." CCHS is ok. The ball's gonna bounce their way soon. They keep on practicing and keep on trying so they'll end up on top soon.

Heritage had a bonfire/ pep rally last night and they know the significance of this game. The rest of their season doesn't look very good for them, so they know that this may be one of their only chances. All I can say, is the CC better be ready!

This is a must win game for both teams. It could be Heritage's only win. It will set the tone for the rest of the Cougar's season. It is one of the more important nonregion games that will be played this year.

Great job team!!!
That was the best playing and coaching I've seen from the cougars as a team in three seasons. Let's keep this kind of improvment rolling.
GO COUGARS!!!
