Friday night @ Jellico. 7:30. Hampton is Hampton. They beat Oneida last week 14-12 and Oneida missed a couple of pat's and a field goal. Unbeatable? Nope. Tough, oh yea. Jellico has to play well and getting the holding penalties and quit fumbling. I'm looking forward to it, coaching and all.

I think the Devil's can do it. In fact I have a feeling a 7+ win season is in the cards for them.

I talked to a coach today and the game film from Oneida was interesting. They follow a distinct pattern and on the tape you can tell what play they're running from the backfield alignment. Not which way they're running or throwing but if they're running or throwing AND who's running or catching it. We'll see if they stick to that pattern. Kellogg is sitting out this game for the BS ejection at Sunbright, but Jellico has others who can catch the ball and Kellogg is #2 in the 40 yd dash. (I forget #1's name but hopefully we'll find out tomorrow). Fear Not and Knock 'em Dead, Kids!

Allrighty then.... Obviously they didn't stick to the predictable game plan and our missing players hurt more than expected. The Kennedy boy is gone from the team and that's all I can say about that right now. They shut our offense down completly. We ran a couple of reverses that worked a little but they adjusted to that too. They're like the borg.... they adjust and destroy. Jellico played hard but made some mistakes. We fumbled, threw interceptions and gave them some points. You can't beat teams like that giving away points. The Devils are off next week. Good luck to all.

I have no doubt the Devils played hard. They will rebound.

They did. And although the scoreboard was ugly the boys hit hard all game and played every second of the game. Their spirits were down on Friday but they'll be ok. We've got a good bunch of boys and I'm proud of them. Thanks for your encouragement.

Like I said in another post...it is personal/team excellence that is the goal...the W/L will take care of its self if kids are striving to be their best. Sometimes teams are just flat-out better, and that is not something to settle upon, but to accept and move on toward improvement.

Right. Jellico's not the only team that Hampton's just flat out better than. The boys are disappointed but not discouraged. They'll still make the playoffs and have a good season.

Pickett County @ Jellico. I just checked on their record. They're 1 - 3 with a loss in week 3 to Sunbright 48-6. Their win is over Red Boiling Springs, I think it was 20-14. I pick the Blue Devils this week.
