I have given enough coaches a hard time. Let me give a couple of coaches the due they have coming.
Steve Rutherford, as far as I know has no kids on the team and none to come to the team any time soon. Steve is out there giving his time because he loves the kids, he loves the game, and he loves contributing to the county in the way he does. I think I have stated before that Steve was probably one of the better coaches in CCHS history, but politics got in the way of him continuing along in that capacity. If we had a Steve Rutherford at every coaching position, I would absolutely have no problem with that.
Cody Parker, here is a young man, I think still in college, with no kids of his own (I do not think so anyway), giving of his time to help the program. He is also in a learning mode, learning how to be a good coach. As you can guess, I think he is learning from the right person. I have no idea if he is even getting paid or not, but I just do not think that is the important thing to him. It is probably the experience he is getting.
These two are fine examples of coaches that are good for the system. Neither of these guys are moving along in the system as their kids go.
