LaFollette All-Stars begin tournament play tonight against the Maryville All-Stars at CCHS. The game begins at 6pm, if you aren't busy, come root on some of our future cougars.
Saturday saw 2 pretty good ballgames with the Blount Co. teams winning both games.

"7 National Titles, 13 Final Fours, 43 SEC Championships, 25 SEC Tournament Titles and the highest all-time winning percentage in college basketball. Two words, UNPARALLELED TRADITION!"
All won by the best PAID basketball players in college athletics.
Sorry Robert, I know this is off subject, but I just could not help myself.
I have two words to counter your two words, mine are BERNARD KING.

I have two words to counter your two words, mine are BERNARD KING. I don't think that you want to get into that debate about players getting paid! Berny got away with a few incidents, if I remember correctly. And I don't think that you want to open up the discussion about the football team. Now, back on subject. LaFollette's Junior League All-Stars played Maryville last night and Maryville escaped with a 5 to 4 win. LaFollette led for most of the game and had a chance to tie it in the bottom of the seventh inning and couldn't get the run in. It was a really great baseball game to watch and the crowd was great! It really helped our players throughout the game. I hope that we can have the same support for our games on Friday night and Saturday morning!

Good luck to the guys this weekend. I'm all Vol, but I have to agree with you. College sports go by the same creedo they taught me in the Navy. "If you don't cheat, you're not trying." Unlike Florida, at least Kentucky's a rival we can have some respect for. Let us know how the Jr. League team did Fri. and Sat.

After wins on Friday night and Saturday morning over Bean Station and Tazewell, the Junior League Baseball team advances to the Elimination Round starting on Monday night. LaFollette will play a very good Eagleton team at 8pm. Games continue on Tuesday night with winner and loser bracket games. Also, the Senior League team with some of our Cougar baseball players on it, advanced to the Elimination round and will play on Monday night also. Good Luck to both teams!
