Congrats to the Lady Cougars who last night beat the OR Lady Wildcats 12 to 5 in a district softball game. The team continues to improve and their record now stands at 5 - 3. If they can eliminate their mental lapses and silly mistakes, they can be a team that can cause a stir by the end of the season.
Well done Lady Cougars!

Actually, 2 of those losses were to Central and let me tell you, they are the real deal! Candice Irwin is a women among girls. She is clearly the best pitcher that I have seen with the exception of Monica Abbott. And her power at the plate is unbelievable.

Actually, the OR Lady Cats just beat AC Mavs last week. OR is looking better this year than they have in a while.

I hate when people belittle a team's accomplishments. Just be happy for the Lady Cougars.

as a retired recreational softball player, i say " go for the fence girls". it's great the opportunities that we are giving girls now to compete in different arenas of competition. when i was coming up it was cheerleading and cheerleading. finally, in jr. high we started basketball, even though it was the hated and ludicrous 6-man idiocy (which was also a way to keep us limited because the public didn't want breasts bouncing down the floor and was afraid our uterus would fall out) like we hadn't been doing harder things since the caveman was around or wasn't since the cavewoman pretty much done the work while the caveman was hunting or laying on the bank fishing, (wait a minute, i just described my husband). seriously a few hundred years late but halleujah for progress and progressive thinking!
