Im going to tell it like it is, no taking shots at anyone or anything like that, but I can no longer sit idely by & watch this counties sports programs go down the drain without saying a word!! Lets get it together around here we need to do some firing & some hiring. The athletes here are to good to get ran over like they do year after year & season after seaon & sport after sport. Like a carbomb in Iraq, Im gonna explode!!!

firing and hiring is not always the best solution, it could be a quick fix but its more than likely to set some programs back. the problem with sports in this county especially in the high school level is the culture of losing if all one does is lose then thats what one expects will happen everytime. if some firing and hirings accur then the school board and athletic director should be willing to pay any price for a real winner and someone to change to culture of losing into a more winning competive aditude. and get more athletes out there and compete and put a good product on the field, court, or diamond.

A quick fix is better than no fix, UT got rid of Buzz & bought a "Pearl" Great quick fix!! Which sport should we hit first...lets go with b-ball since everyone always says "wait till the seasons over" & there is plenty of time to go on a legitimate hunt for a coach. Ok we will hit both high schools, but let us hit one at a time. We will start with the most obvious, CCHS boys. Come on people when was the last time we had a good season, are we going to live in the yesteryears forever...everyone else in east TN has forgotten & they now think we are a joke. Len has had some success, but Tubbys on the hot seat every year at UK & he won a national title there. What have you done for me lately Lenny??? I dont want to hear who will we get...there is always someone out there. Lens a fine coach, thank him for the good times...but lately there has been to many bad ones c-ya coach! Who is in agreement if you want to win you have to saccrifice. BOOOOM!!!

I agree with Raider...but the current coaches have all had ample time to at least begin to change the culture of failure at CCHS, and they haven't yet. I think the whole system needs an enema. I mean the girls teams are mediocre at best, and the boys are terrible...the only exception is track and field...and that is not because of coaching...those kids are just pretty darn good at what they do and they are dedicated to their sport. Athletics are an integral part of the school community...with the tradition of failure on their backs imagine how bad the collective psyche at CCHS is.

BUZZ was a "quick fix" hire... those too may explode in teh face of change---KA-BOOM!!! research in finding a replacement (if that is the step to be taken) is teh key, not a quick fix... colleges recruit their players...high school coaches have to rely on the availability of athletes ...it is like a poker player having to play teh hand he/she is dealt... all athletes are not "ball players" for particular sports...example: a track athlete does not always equal a football player or a basketball player... success winning-wise is not always the product of a coach's ability to coach... a coach should be able to get teh most out of his/her available talent... (large rumbling sound in teh background)

The only people who can turn a school program around are the kids/players. It's like "The Matrix". The coach can show them the door but they have to go through it.

So sorry to disagree with you...the coach is the one who needs to lead the team to glory. I know u cant catch the ball for them blah blah blah, but were talking about consistent losing! Now thats a coach. By the way I havent read any oppinions on Pierce, we will get to the other programs soon I promise. You cant advertise for a job until you get rid of the coach. With the internet who knows who might apply?

Why don't you lead 'em? You seem to have all the answers. It's a darn good coach who can consistently have winning seasons no matter what kind of tallent he's blessed (or cursed) with. I can't speak for everyone but I never turn down free help, especially from someone who has all the answers. March on up to Coach Pierce and tell him you can do a better job than he's doing. I've got one word of advice for you when you do that.........DUCK!

Oh your funny, of course someone with a 0-16 record would jump to the rescue of a losing coach...unlike you, Pierce has proven that he can coach, I just think its time for a change & was simply asking for oppinions, Im not after Pierce I will be talking about every sport. So quit your whining b-tch

back off devilcoach there "carpooter"...dont ever criticize a coach unless you are well aquainted withhis program...it is easy to talk..it is easy to say a coach should be able to do this or do that...it is so easy to coach from the sidelines/stands/pressbox...why dont you make an appointment with devilcoach and show him what all you know about teh game of middle school football...
I like devilcoach CHALLENGE you to walk up to coach pierce and question his coaching ability...then we will see what goes BOOM!!! we all know that you wont do it...or will you??? probably not...

d**n people Im tryin to start up conversation about sports kind of like John Adams of the sentinel so lets move onto another program, everything I say isnt going to be negative. You guys like pierce so lets keep losing its typical of CC. Let us talk about the girls bball team. Sherry Chapman yeah she was hot...but shes getting old!!! We need a young fresh face on the sidelines that we all would enjoy looking at, who agrees? Seriously though the program seems to be on the decline. BOOOOM!!!!
