It's not just the CC band that plays during the play.....go to any high school game in the state and you will find high school bands playing during the play....That's what distinguishes highschool ball to college ball.....and it is also what makes it great!!!! Does it bother me sometimes? Sure. Does it prohibit me from enjoying the game.....not at all!

If u r goin to prepare Pride of the Southland band to the high school band. Come on, theres no comparison. Our band is good i think, but they arent the Pride of the Southland. I didnt mean that the band at UT only played during timeouts, but they dont play while we have the ball and running a play. Also the band dont bother me being there. They dont bother me and im glad they are there. Also, TN running out of the T, when u think about TN football, u think about running out of the T. When u think of CC football, u dont think about them running through the band. THeres a big difference there. TN band is known all over the world for being one of the best in the country, Phillup Fulmer knows how important they are. Thats college, thats not even high school. Theres no comparison there. I mean come one think about it. I think our band is pretty good, but dont compare urself to the Pride of the SOuthland and how they compare to football teams. A reason they play thunderstruck is probably b/c that gets them pumped or something, the band doesnt. Not putting the band down or ne thing, but if the football players dont get pumped by hearing the band then they need something else to pump them up.

i believe beardencoach's exact words were something along the lines of, '' i loved running thru the band when i was in high school and hearing the band play at the games. IT PUMPED ME UP. so, obviously it pumped someone on the team up. and i'm not saying we are as good as the pride of the southland, but if you look at our history, there has never been a band member from campbell county who tried out for their band and didn't make it. 2 former band members are there now, a clarinet and trombone player. the trombone player is doing a solo at trombone thing next week and we had 2 trombones there last year. so we may not be as good as they are (but then again who is b/c this ppl come from all over the us to try out) but we certainly do have the talent.

One reason the band numbers are down is that some people do not like to put in the hard work that the band does. I hvae seen what they do at band camp and it is no easy task.
