I would not hold teams hostage....he stated he wanted to be home with his kids so he played for Houston ....then......BAM......... he wants to be in New York again, quoted from ae2.
[glow=red,2,300]Sorry, if the media stated what happened right, Clemens did not hold any team hostage. They came looking for him, he did not go looking for them. He wanted to be close to his kids in Houston, he did that. All the teams that came looking for him knew his terms and conditions when they came looking. He made no secret of his terms. So to say BAM, he is back in New York is a bit misleading at best I think.[/glow]
If Barry Bonds was white would this debate around the country be as strong, quoted from ae2.
[glow=red,2,300]Again, as I stated earlier, my feelings is that you are absolutely right, if he were white, this would not be an issue, because he would have been kicked out of baseball a long time ago. But, because Major League baseball is afraid of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Spike Lee and folks such as these. Bonds can do whatever he wants and get a pass.
I am sure that you will agree with me that the racial issue only works one way. It does not protect ALL races. The white race is way out of that equation.[/glow]

I agree about the race issue I just thought I would throw that out there. Roger Clemens is a great pitcher......maybe the greatest ever...I just don't agree with how he goes about playing......About steroids, it's a shame that Bonds will get in with all the stuff he did when a man like Dale Murphy is struggling getting in!

I was a catcher from birth so my favorite player of all time was Johnny Bench. He's been accused of being gay, a drunk, a jerk and all that. I got to meet him a couple of times and he was always appreciative of his fans. So, like it or not, I nominate Mr. Johnny Bench to the list of greats.
