Let's say BIGKEV's prediction in the Meachum opts for NFL thread comes true and the Vols have a horrible season and that a coaching change occurs at the top.
Who would be your dream coach out of living coaches to come coach the Vols?

Spurrier is in decline, he is better for us being at SC where he can drift into his winter years. We need to look at getting a coach coming from a different family. I would look at the Dan Reeves family of offensive coordinators. I also think Gruden would be happy to drop back into collage, reset and then go back to the NFL after 3-4 years. We do not need to cripple ourselves as Bama did by turning over coaches every third year. The Fat One has not created ANY successful coaches, save Sanders......

I really like Jeff Fisher...I think he is a very good coach! I believe he could recruit, he is energetic and could help this program!

After reading posts from people like fightpower, I support len pierce as next vol coach. If we had pierce years ago he would never have allowed Archie Manning to tell him how to coach.
We could have enjoyed three yards in a cloud of dust just like the General Neyland did.

I'd love to see them bring in Gruden, he does have some ties to the program after all

If Gruden came to UT you would definitely clean up some of the off field issues that have been distractions over the last couple of years. Plus I really like his intensity.

Lovie Smith, former graduate assistant under majors, been a successfull coordinator and now head coach in the NFL.

I just don't know if Gruden could recruit...he may be able to...but alotta big high school players parents make their decision for them....not sure many parents would like him...I wouldnt care...we need a change!

I only pushed Grundens name out there due to the UT link and his lack of progress with the Bucks after Dungies people were gone. If your being recruited by the head coach of a Div I A school, your looking to play on Sunday. Chucky has a supebowl ring,nuff said.

Collage is too much about personality. Belicheck was genetically engineered for the NFL.
