You can't blame Coach Pierce for us having a horrible basketball team. If you have enough talent, you should be able to win no matter who the coach is. I say tell these super-sophs to pack their bags and go to Anderson County.

I go to the games when I can, and from what I see, it wasnt so much him believing in 3's as much as it was his players shooting them. Very rarely did I see a ball screen up top. That may have been lack of execution though, who knows.

to the guest ....... ANDERSON COUNTY ? are you kidding? maybe to go to class but do you think any coach there would want them or any coach anywhere for that matter!! coaches look at history and if a kid or parent will pull a stunt like this once, they'll do it again ... coaches have this thing ..... they kinda stick together when it comes to kids (or parents) trying to cut a coaches throat... great comment though ...... i almost feel sorry for these super sophs ... they sure did dig themselves in a hole!

I agree with you that they will probably have problems playing at another school. Some of these guys have a chance to be pretty good players, but they have let their parents ruin it for them. I know some of the parents of these players and I'm amazed that they have done this.

Thats because their parents wouldnt have done this unless something was bad wrong.

bruce pearl, I still don't think that it was right to do what they done no matter how bad it was. They should have at least stuck it out for the rest of the year and then addressed the situation after the season is complete. All in all the kids are the ones that are being punished.

I told the guys at the rec wed. when i played with them that they shouldnt have done this now. Either before or after the season would have been better, and thats what I told them.

if something had been bad wrong then they never should have allowed their child to start the year..... i have been upset with coaches before but have always understood and respected the position of the coach ... if a coach is doing something to endanger the life of a child, that is one thing .... but if they just don't like the coaching style, that's a whole other issue.... you don't teach your children to scheme ... if they felt they needed to quit (for whatever reason) then they should have turned in their uniform and said good-bye ... if the parents were taking advice from the director of schools and encouraged their children to do this then boy, did they make a mistake ..... i truly feel bad for these boys .. it has to be tough to be a teenager and be in the position they are in right now ..... i know them all personally .... and like them all as well.

I agree with you about sticking it out or not starting the season at all. These players knew how Coach Pierce was going to coach. Most of them got to play varsity last year for him. I've played for coaches that I didn't agree with their coaching styles, but I stuck it out.

you ever seen that commercial about the vitamin supplements that has some guy trying to stuff all those herbs into a capsule and it finally explodes on him? Same principal here.
