yea, that was my mistake. Although I completely stand by my comments, they were totally out of line. Probably should have not asked for the thread to be closed either. I just got really sick of reading all the bickering back and forth with some people. Sorry to all about that.

I had the oppurtunity to officiate at Clinton Middle School tonight. The LMS girls lost, but the JV & Varsity boys won easily against a good Clinton squad. Ive had the JV owls on a couple of other occassions this season & the boys seem to play an uptempo Rick Pitino style of BBall. I think coach Dotson must be doing a heck of a job there, congrats & good luck

Their best player was suspended for the game because he got in trouble at school. The talent level at LMS is pretty far ahead of the other teams in the district. Did see 5 senior players together in the 4th that worked really well together though. Just the difference in the lack of turnovers during that time was a change.

You won't even let someone say something good about the team , (or the kids that are not senior players), without having something bad to say. My gosh, we won 69-53.... what else do you want. It's all about the senior players---- yea we've heard it alot. I seriously wish Coach Dotson would one game only play the senior players and just see how good they do. I am not saying the senior players shouldn't play, they deserve to play as much as anyone, but would you give it a break, the 7th graders have alot of talent and have played together for almost 2 years, all summer long, (yours could have played also, but chose not to). This is a team, not 8th graders vs. 7th graders. It should be treated as a team. One other thing, LaFollette scored 25 pts in the first quarter without all 5 senior players..........

This is why I do not think they will be very successfull in the long run...team division...if parents have a problem then it will translate into the players...I hope not, but it looks like this. Sounds like some are more worried about individual glory rather than team accomplishment. If I am not mistaken isn't LMS undefeated thus far.

I do think the team will be successful, (they are 7-0), (and the JV is 7-1). Honestly, the team seems to get along pretty well considering some parents are not too happy......

I want everyone to read this and understand! This is way more than you know... just like the CC players! You all don't know half the story. Dotson has made it personal! And that is fine~ Yea, it's all about team...it's all about Dotson trying to save his butt!!! You know all of that Campbell County politics everyone talks about..well that's who's running this team! My son is being screwed because of a parent that happens to have a little pull and knows a few people on the school board. And you know what....there is life after basketball season...we all live in the same county and we WILL see each other a few times...and I do believe what goes around comes around and there's a lot coming around! My son will move on to track..which he holds a few records in...and forget about the little people that has to... let's just say pay for the lack of a better world...people to assure that his son plays hmmm..... bout 3.50 quarters! My son works for everything he does in sports and he DON"T want crap from Dotson!!!! He will stay on the team and no one will say anything to him!! And everyone that comes to the LMS games..... if you watch, the real coach of the team is stuck to Dotson's side!.....making sure Dotson understand he holds his job in his hands!!!! So should be pretty easy to figure out~ Yea, I'm a parent and yea, I'm biased...but does that mean my son has to be humiliated because of an adult that has to pull strings to make sure things go his way!!! And don't give me that team bull...because my son has ALWAYS been a team player he's very much a TEAM player! But I don't think anyone understands that teams doesn't mean illegal, sneaky, underhanded, selfish, I, paybacks, ignorant....just to name a few. So no one is going to tell me that an adult can in the name of a COACH screw my kid and say he's not a team player...BULL CRAP!!!

Owl fan, in case you can't read, he did say "something good" about the team or are you just wanting to cause trouble like others have done? I think a "good Clinton squad" would have had all players in, including the one in trouble, and the others not in foul trouble. That way nothing could be said from Clinton's fans, "Well, LMS only beat us because we had internal problems." "Bigblue" also made the statement that for a while in the 4th quarter, there were fewer fouls and turnovers. I understand that to be a compliment on better coordination between members on the court and with their coach on the sideline. Also the statement was made that LMS had talent level higher than the other teams in the district. What part of any of this were you not able to read???!!! If a person was told that their talent level in anything is higher than others, I don't think that they would get all bent out of shape about it. I would think that they would say thank you. One thing that I can't figure out, is just how do you know if this "bigblue" person actually has a child on the team and if he played this summer or not. [glow=red,2,300] Reality check[/glow] Sometimes it's not the kids decision! Big deal if the kids played this summer or not, not everybody has the opportunity to play summer league due to family or other types of obligations which have to come before sports. I know a few people that have kids playing at LMS and they have told me that the kids were promised Varsity if they played this summer. That's wrong because then you are discriminating against the kids that weren't able to. But you also have to take into account, these are kids. They cannot drive themselves to practice or games during the summer (or any other time) if the parents aren't able to. The person who told me this is of highest character and I believe them. Looks to me that "bigblue" has paid the team much higher compliments than you did. Basically all you did was backlash. Do you feel like you earned more respect by responding the way you did? You didn't earn any from me! No one's backlashing, just trying to take up for the team. That's news to me that anyone that played this summer was promised a definite position on the Varsity team. Hadn't heard that one. Oh yea, everyone knows who "Big Blue" is....... and I don't need your respect.

I'm really sorry that you took that as a cut-down. Wasn't intended to be, but let's look at a couple of things, OK? Every time anyone has anything to say about the LMS team, there is always someone to quickly defend the coaching staff and try to justify everything that they do. Well, I think that tells us that you are more than likely on the staff. There definitely wasn't any intention in the statement about the senior players looking well together. For anyone to think that you are not better off most of the time when it comes to putting players on the floor, field or playing surface is the most naive statement you could possibly make.
I have never said anything bad about the first player on the team! Unless you are the coach, stop defending him. A coach takes the praise and criticism along with the position. I'm glad that alot of the team was able to play together this summer, they are clearly reaping the benefits of those efforts now. You seem to know alot about me and my family though. I have never given any indication about that whatsoever.

So no one is going to tell me that an adult can in the name of a COACH screw my kid and say he's not a team player...BULL CRAP!!! Whatever that situation is...I am glad I am not part of it. I have heard...and I live in KY that many of the younger players parents are trying to high-jack the team because they think their son is the second coming of Jordan. That is why my response #149 was aimed at team vs. individual it was in reference to post #148's comments about the older players vs. younger players. CC is a joke per my post on the cougars falling apart post. I really can't say one good thing about that school system as a whole. I do believe that as long as the team is doing well and kids are happy then parents should stay out of it, but I have no clue about your circumstance so we will leave it at that. I have seen many good teams destroyed by meddling parents that have no "LEGITIMATE" reason to be upset, angry, concerned etc. But there are instances when parents need to step in and look out for their kids. As for defending coaches...if one can not take criticism then he/she does not need to coach. Even undefeated teams have critics...If a coach is in it for the glory he/she needs to get out because there is little of it, and plenty criticism to go around...it just comes with the territory.

You understand alot more than some do there redhound. Why can't it just be about the game? When some people start making it personal, the game takes a back seat.
