Tennessee won tonight by 7 against Fordham. The winner of the UNC Wilmington vs. Belmont gets to square off against the Vols in the second round to see who goes to the Garden. Thoughts?

I'll take the win. We will have games where we look awful, but a win is a win. I am happy in the fact we are winning games like this. If anyone saw the game they would have to agree we woulda found a way to loose this one under buzzy!

It was ugly, But at the beginning of the year noone looks like world beaters. UT should win the second round game and move on to the big apple. I watched Indiana and was not impressed, If the UT v IU matchup happends then I think UT will have to much athleticism for IU.

Tennessee takes on UNC Wilmington tonight. I havent gotten to watch either team play thus far this year because of work, but I have gotten to listen to a couple of the games on the radio. From what I hear, it sounds like when Tennessee drops the throttle and plays up to their potential, they can just take over a game. Then again, its been against MTSU and Fordham so far.

Eh, just gotta take what you can get from Burtlekamp every now and then. He is the glue to that team. Tennessee beat UNCW tonight and Butler beat Indiana so Tennessee plays Butler in the quarterfinals.

So much for my UT vs. IU prediction. Very intruiging game though next Wednesday when UT takes on Butler who was Bruce Pearl's biggest rivalry in the Horizon League.

It wouldnt suprise me one bit if when the Butler team gazes in the direction of Bruce Pearl that they immediately turn into pillars of salt. If Tennessee gets past Butler, which they should, that would most likely pit them against Tyler Hansbrough and the North Carolina Tar Heels. What, if any, chance do we have of being able to match up with those guys. Hansbrough and Terry are all world and Roy Williams loves to play the same type of run and gun offense that Pearl does. Only thing is he has more experience. I think if our guard play can buckle down at least for that one game, we may have a chance at those guys. That is a HUGE MAY by the way.

MAY the FORCE be with them (if they get that far...and I think they will)...

Carolina didnt look to sharp against Winthrop, maybe TN can compete with them.

This is the matchup I've been waiting to see. Even if we can play the tarheels close it will put the natl spotlight on tenn. more recognition= better recruiting

Well the vols didn't fare too well with the tarheels. We really had no answer for Hansbrough. Being such a young team, especially in the front court, I think it was a good early season test. Another thing I've noticed so far is that we're a poor free throw shooting team, we have got to get better at that before we start conference play.

Free throws have been terrible....I still don't know why Bruce didn't try and play Crews and Chism together against Brandon Wright and Hansbrough...WE had Dane guarding Wright....who IMO is the best player i've seen so far!!!
