Tonite we host Cherokee, from what we have been able to find out they won one district game. Clinton Beat Cherokee 22-0. Clinton beat Jacksboro 8-0. We beat Jacksboro 38-8. Final score should be around 46-0. Seriously though, the field looks good and the Lafollette faithful are foaming at the mouth. The kids are starting to show the hunger that Coach Rutherfordsaid they were lacking against Huntsville. To all those who can, come out and support the Owls, and CC football in general.

Good luck to the Owls tonight against Cherokee! The Owls have been very impressive this year and Coach Rutherford should certainly be Coach of the Year for the Region if not the State.
Reid Sharp and Evans are the real deal. The Owls should handle Cherokee easily and then move on to a more difficult matchup with Robertsville next week.
Robertsville defeated Jacksboro last night by a score of 30-6, with the Eagles' only score coming late in the contest by 6th grade speedster Tanner Sweat. However, the game was not as bad as the final score dictates.
Jacksboro twice drove inside the Rams 20 in the first half only to turn the ball over on downs at the 11 and 15. The Rams' have a speedy and quick tandem at tailback, #14 and #20 that run behind a MAMMOTH offensive line. I do mean MAMMOTH - they have to average about 220 per player. The first half score was 6-0 after #14 broke off a 65 yard TD run. He then returned the opening kickoff for a 80 yard TD to put the Rams up 14-0. The 3rd quarter was a defensive stalemate, but the rams opened it up after several Eagles standouts left the game due to injuries.
LaFollette will match up well with Robertsville speedwise. If Sharp can avoid the big linemen, he can handle #14. The Rams had the Eagles well scouted (they will be in attendence tonight) and totally took Jason Collins out of the game. They sent their OL after Slagle and Collins in the middle that allowed #14 to hit the secondary without being challenged on numerous occasions.
Hopefully, Evans' ball trickery will slow the speed of the Rams defensive rush. If so, I love the Owls' chances in this one.
It pains me somewhat to say it, but
GO OWLS! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

If you want, I could call Dewayne Kitts and see about the possibility of playing the game on Channel 12. These kids have earned and deserve and recognition. If the Owls don't have a play-by-play guy, I would gladly like to do the game(s), especially against the Rams.

I just got off the phone with Dewayne Kitts. He can't film tonight due to a church commitment, but we would love to do the Owls vs. Rams game next week. My offer was for the play-by-play for the WLAF-Channel 12 broadcast - certainly don't want to step on any toes up there!

Surely there is somebody up that way that can film tonite. I can always set it up to overdub commentary for a tv broadcast

Pat, I should have a copy of the video by the p.m. tomorrow. I will be on after 6 p.m. leave me a (pm) with your number and I will get it to you. Needless to say, we took it to them and the conditions played to their favor. We couldn't get any traction or Reid would have busted more plays to the outside. Things are definitely looking good. Does anybody know how the other bracket is turning out? way to go OWLS 38-14.
