The black is awful...good concept, could have had gold jerseys like Georgia Tech of Vandy...but Black?  ?? Come on....booo for sean....hahahaha. |

Alright I give up!!! Maybe if I was from Jacksboro I would understand! But, black, blue, brown, green, it doesn't matter. Football is football and we still played some pretty good football!!!lol Oh and redhound, I've seen some of the old gold jerseys, looked like baby poop yellow!!!! lol But I don't know, I do like ga tech and vandy's gold. Might have been a better choice!! Oh and traditionalists, although i'm not from jacksboro, it didn't take me long to see what it's about. I loved every second of coaching there. Even when we were down a bit. It was a great experience for me and has helped me as i have moved up. Kudos to the long history, minus those two years lol, and football tradition of the JMS Eagles!!!

actually that "baby poop" color ylou mention is the original school colors of "OLD GOLD and BLUE"...
if you could actuallysee teh real old gold you might like it a little better...I'll try to dig out my old #50 from 1967...
it made it easy to hide teh ball if teh backs carried out their fakes...
that is the old "Coach Gearing philososhy"...
who could ever question that???
and by the way panthercoach, you did an admirable job of fighting an uphill battle to bring the program back to respectability (which you did so by teh way)...
thank you for that!!!

Thanks much peeblee!! Although we may disagree over the color issue, one thing we can agree on is that we did get better and the kids learned how to be competitors again. That was the main goal. Everything else was just icing on the cake!! I just hope the tradition stays around this time!!! And I wasnt alone with the coaaching aspect of things. I was surrounded by some good people. Too many to name actually!!! But you, jb, beardencoach and your son are just a few!!! Thank you for all the help!

Hey we worked well together as a staff & the kids listened to to us & fought hard week in & week out. We have moved on to bigger things now, but we got our start at the greatest middle school for football in the state of tennessee!!

you guys did a great job of getting the program back on track...
there is a strong tradition at jacksboro that had started to erode...

I hear things arent so happy in jms land these days!! If anyone is interested, CG plays at West Greene on thursday. And will probably be traveling to Alcoa the following friday for the first round of the playoffs. We should beat West Greene, but no one will be giving us a chance against the Tornadoes!! No one ever gave our teams much chance against Robertsville in my days at JMS either. We played the heck outta them 3 of the 4 yrs we played them. That's why they play the game folks!!!
