I just wanted to take a few seconds to thanks Tubby Smith for being a fool and passing up on Chris Lofton! I like Tubby, I think he is a pretty good coach but if I was a KY fan I would never forgive him! There is a player from Maysville this yr, Darius Miller, who is picking between KY and UT. They say Tubby is at every single Maysville game this yr.....think he learned his lesson?? hah...What dothe KY faithful on the board think bout it???

I have a feeling he was kicking himself last night for passing on Lofton.

Western Kentucky didn't even offer him a scholarship. I wonder what they are thinking right about this time? Lofton had said that he would have considered them if they would have offered. I am glad that we got him though. Best contested shooter going right now, besides Chris Smith of course. I thought you would like that comment AE2.

They say Tubby is at every single Maysville game this yr.....think he learned his lesson?? hah...What dothe KY faithful on the board think bout it??? This cow has been milked dry for so long now! No one and I mean NO ONE knows how players are going to develop. If Lofton had went to UK, he would have been part of the #1 recruiting class in the nation and probably would have been lost near the end of the bench fighting for playing time. Chris Lofton was the 156 or the 158th ranked player in the nation that year. I can't remember the exact number. The guard that Tubby signed then was ranked in the 60's. (Ramel Bradley) Chris was known for not playing any defense (which is what Tubby is all about) and he was a step slow. He was able to come to a very bad UT program, where he was clearly the best offensive option they had and he had the minutes to develop his game. Chris has one of the best work ethics anywhere and he is a fine young man. He spends time with kids and speaks to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. And more importantly, he is the clear leader of the Volunteers. One question there AE2, I haven't heard you say much about losing Humphrey, Wright, Young or any other of the top state recruits the past few years? With the problems that the UT program has had in the past few decades in basketball, I think you need to worry more about that than to worry about UK.

I have a feeling he was kicking himself last night for passing on Lofton. Not really. Chris is not the only good shooter that UK has faced this year.

I for one knew we had no shot at Brandon Wright...And I was pissed off when we didn't get Lee Humphrey....Chris Lofton does concern UT Big Blue....did I say UK sucked? Did I say Tubby is dumb? ? NO....I said a heartfelt "THANK YOU" I will say it again "thank you" Mr. Tubby Smith for passing up on Chris Lofton.....Big Blue...what do you think KY's chances are of landing Darius Miller? If he lets Bruce steal another one out of Maysville....it will get ugly!

There are several schools recruiting Darius and who knows if he will fit in with Tubby or Bruce's style of play. Can he make the grade? There are so many factors in the recruitment of a player, so who knows what will happen?

Actually, I wasn't upset about the game. It's just the statement about UK passing on Chris. You can hear it just about everyday on any of the sportstalk radio programs when they are talking about the Vols bball. I can't remember exactly, but UK had beaten the vols in ktown 4 or 5 straight times and those numbers will eventually catch you on the road in the SEC. Just look at the gators today in Nashville. Buzz and Bruce have done a decent job with Chris. Actually, Chris is the one working his butt off in the gym! Coaches get alot of credit when they shouldn't and really alot more blame when they shouldn't also. All of the UT fans just need to accept the fact that Chris signed and came to Ktown and get over the fact that UK or UL didn't recruit him, OK?
