It wont really. Might actually help. The other recievers are just as talented and with that other kid coming in from Oklahoma, look for Taylor, Rogers, and Briscoe to be just as productive as Meachem, Swain, and Smith. As long as we have David Cutcliffe and Erik Ainge, we will be ok. People should be more concerned about the loss of Aaron Sears and Tennessee's inability to run the ball rather than Meachem turning pro. Its a tough personal blow though. . . As of 1:22pm EST I am no longer a Meachem Sheep. I will become an Ainge Sheep at the time of 1:30pm EST due to the $3.5 million dollars per year for 8 years contract that I have signed. AINGE FOR HEISMAN!

Can't really blame him. I hope he has a great NFL career.

It's not Meachum fault. He needed to go now, very few top end wide outs in the pool, Mel Kyper Jr is very high on him and he decided to go for the payday. I don't think it is fair for you to place your entertainment over all other concerns. he is getting off a sinking ship, next year his draft status would be lower from a larger pool of receivers and a B-A-D UT team. Mark my words, we drop below the SEC Mendoza line with a road loss to UK and start the downward spiral. We should all be making the coaching short list, and it must be a NFL assistant not a coal bucket dumb in the family guy from the O-line. I wonder if Bill Cower will have fixed is marriage by then? ??

I think the Vols will miss Meachum, but we have some pretty good recievers coming in along with what is still going to be there. We have a Juco reciever that is probably faster than anybody we have on this years team. I believe he signed with Florida State out of high school, but got kicked off of their team. Bret Vinson should also come in and help as a true freshman. Meach has a family to support so this may be a good decision for him.

Man Meachem needed to go support his family blue raider, what if he stayed & then got injured next season. If you come from a wealthy family stay but if not get the money while you can. Be thankful for the time we had him. & by the way he was here 4 years.
