What I dont unerstand is while these kids are in high school, all this parents nonesense. If these kids are half as good as everybody says they are. When they (if they go) get in college and play ball (if they do) they better be sure to get a coach that will BOW before the almight parents. I know for a fact that the rev and Poteet did not want Pierce to coach before they walked on the CCHS floor...TAKE THEM SOMEWERE ELSE....

Pierce told the freshman they were cut because they had no uniforms for them. They had already played 3 games. It was an excuse. Unless Jim Pierce lied to me personally that is what he told them. Reynolds left because he could not teach the kids one way and they were getting in trouble for it on the floor. ASK MITTON. It happened at the AE game. That is when Mitton told the team to F. what pierce says and play like you know how. then pierce kicked him off the team. Reynolds walked away because his vision is not pierces and you cannot coach kids two different ways. Fightthepower your info is wrong. when did you talk to Green, Jim Pierce, Gary Seale, or Judy Blevins about what happened? what is your first hand knowledge??? Too many rumors are going around. ALL the kids involved deserve better from the authorities that impact their lives. We as a community fail with our children again and again. they grow up and the same cycle happens. if the 7 had no talent then why did pierce put them on the team??? Pierce has an ego that gets in the way of his knowledge of the game. Some of his stuff is outdated and some is usefull. His record speaks for itself. the 7 did not lose every game for him in his coaching history.

whether you like it or not this is their school and their home. they didn't want pierce to coach but the kids wanted to play together so they stayed. no one said they are college material because one on one they don't play well but as a unit they have chemistry that brings them together. I can argue all day but you will nver understand and that is your right but remember that God says we are her not to judge but to witness. Unless you were in their shoes then don't try and tell what their truth is. I seriously believe you have ever sacrificed something you love that much for a greater good. My son said he was tired of this whole mess because everybody is getting the wrong info. i asked hiim if he wanted to speak out but he said to me that he prayed and gave it to God and that he feels he did what he should. That's it. Reality is painful and it is a lesson for all concerned.

You must have gotten your information from the Rev. Like everthing else your facts are wrong..The whole freshman mess would not even be an issue if reynolds had not walked out on the team. So called personal reason, when we know the real reason was the "fab 7" parents beathing down his neck (the rev and his BIG buddy) to become the head coach...People in Campbell County always get it wrong. Basketball will come and go but teaching kids to lie and decieve goes beyond playing the game. fightthepower.......I just have to flat out say..."Your an idiot" Won't you just shut up...you don't have a clue what your talking about! What are you like 5? Grow Up!!! |

Well...sounds like you all have beed to too many junior pro games. Are you the parent who calls the kid over while other players are in the coaches huddle. Face it! The coach is always the scapegoat. Parents should go to school and get a degree if they want to coach. Their will always be "wanna be" coaches and "wanna be" players. "Man John, im not getting to play, and my dad is mad." "Well Dave lets do the wrong thing and act like its the right thing." "What do you mean John?" "Lets make up some lie about the coach and act like he doesnt care about us." "Then we can get that guy our parents want to coach." "Great idea, first lets have a secret meeting (dont invite that one Green kid) and get the parents mad." "Their so powerhungry they will listen to anything." "Great idea!...Remember not to show up at the district game Tues." "Yea that will show them who's in charge.." "OK see you Sunday." THE RIGHT THING TO DO.........

Well I have been doing alot of praying and thinking about this whole mess. At first I was gun ho and supporting Coach Pierce. For one we should not be mad at these 7 young men. They were miss lead by their parents. But, the parents were miss lead by the so called leaders of the County. And Coach Pierce was doing what he thought was right. And I'm not taking up for him and saying he was right. But thats the way he has always coached, so the parents and kids knew coming into high school what they had. Now people say Mike should be the coach. Well people Mike is not a certified teacher so he cannot be the Head Coach. And he knows that. He didn't quit to get the coaching job, he quit for the same reason others have.
Now who is really is at fault here is the so called leaders of the school system located in downtown Jacksboro. They were the ones who supposely told the parents they needed to take a stand. When if they wanted something done instead of using the kids and parents (of the 7) as choping blocks. THEY SHOULD HAVE STEPPED UP TO THE PLATE AND DONE SOMETHING ABOUT IT! NOT THE KIDS AND PARENTS!
So what we all need to do as a community is leave these seven players alone and go and support the team that is playing now. Because if anyone seen the game today you would have been proud of them. Those players have heart and so do the ones who quit. (Remember the West game)
